Hey Everyone, We’re back with another #HockeyatHome video. This is a great drill to work on some of the basic techniques we talked about in our first video. ... #: When practicing this drill players should focus on rolling their top hand and wrist to improve puck control. #: They should also allow their bottom hand the freedom to move up and down the stick to improve reach #: Players also want to keep their feet square to the pucks and their hands away from their bodies. Record yourself trying this drill at home and tag us or DM us the video so we can share it in our story ! Leave a comment or DM us with some suggestions for skills you would like to see us demonstrate. See more
Hey everybody, we hope you’re all staying safe and healthy at home with your families. Despite these unfortunate circumstances we still want to help everyone improve their skills. In the following video we will provide you with some basic stickhandling techniques that you can work on away from the rink. ... #: When holding the stick we want to make sure we have a strong top hand grip with our V pointing down towards the blade. #: Our top hand and wrist roll to control the blade and ensure the puck is cupped on the backhand and forehand. #: The bottom hand should have a loose grip and be approximately a forearm length down the shaft. The bottom hand will help with stability and dictate reach when handling the puck. #: When stickhandling it is important to keep both your hands away from your body this will allow for a maximum range of motion. #: Rotating the hips while stick handling is a technique that can be used to protect the puck in a game situation. We hope you all learned something and are able to implement these techniques into your at home training. Check back next week for another instructional video. Until then, stay safe everybody.
