Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful, self sacrificing, loving mothers! I would not be the woman I am today without my mom. We immigrated to Canada with nothing.... And she sacrificed everything to help me and my sisters become strong, educated, self sufficient women. She taught us to love God first. To love everyone well. To be kind and generous. To cook well And she learned this from her mother, my precious Nene who I miss dearly. Comment with a heart emoji if your mom means the world to you

Your body speaks to you through symptoms. The first step to helping your body find balance and health is to begin to listen to these symptoms. To be in good health requires a strong metabolism! ... We NEED to understand this to feel our best, and a healthy metabolism includes: Warm body temperature 36.6C (97.8F) upon waking, 37C (98.6F) mid-day Warm hands, feet, and nose all day long Pulse 75-90bpm Strong digestion with little bloating 1-3 bowel movements each day (4 on the bristol stool chart) Urinating 4-5times/day, not 10-12 times! Healthy libido Regular periods without PMS No menopause symptoms (if menopausal) Shiny hair, smooth and healthy skin, strong nails Easily fall asleep with 7-9 hours of deep, uninterrupted sleep A happy and positive outlook on life Good energy all day! Stable weight without dieting and excessive exercise If the above checklist isn't your current experience, then you can begin to do a few things to help bring your body back into balance. 1. Speak with your Dr and get your thyroid hormones tested. I will soon create a post to tell you which tests to run and why. But even the basic TSH test is a good place to start. And if the results are over 2, then it could indicate that the thyroid could use some support. 2. Begin to eat regular meals throughout the day. DON'T SKIP MEALS. I know intermittent fasting is on-trend, and it has its place, but if you are experiencing these symptoms, it will do you more harm than good. Because when you skip meals, you are tapping into cortisol to balance your blood sugar, which can further hamper your metabolism. 3. Consider supplementing with magnesium. Magnesium glycinate would be a good place to start. This is especially important if you are experiencing sleep issues. 4. Connect with me! I started to experience eczema on the nape of my neck and around my eyes in Jan 2020. I tried everything I knew to try and heal my body. Through my nutrition education I understood that eczema is related to gut health. So I worked on my gut for over a year. I eliminated problematic food, I cut out gluten and dairy, I did numerous candida cleanses, I went completely plant based. And nothing worked. It would improve and then get worse.... I continued my research and began to work on balancing my mineral status. I shifted my focus from restricting my eating and began to focus on nutrient density and mineral absorption. I started this shift in Feb 2021 and began to see my eczema slowly clear. It took over a year for me to figure this out but I’m SO grateful I finally got there. It’s now the end of April and it has fully cleared!!! I’m so excited to have finally discovered the root of my eczema and from what I’m learning, the root of every disease. I can’t wait to share my findings with you. I’m already sharing it with my transformation tribe. Forcing your body into losing weight is a mistake. It is short-lived. In fact, it will KILL your metabolism. Harm your thyroid and adrenals.... And will further drive your health into the ground. Stubborn weight is a sign of metabolic dysfunction. Sure, you can starve yourself and force your body to shed the unwanted lbs but at what cost? Instead of focusing on the weight and counting calories - I NEVER count calories. Focus on bringing the body into balance. Focus on increasing your body temperature. Focus on having regular bowel movements. Focus on eating nutrient-dense, whole foods. Focus on moving your body in a way you actually enjoy! Focus on balancing your mineral profile. When you do, it will begin to feel better AND ultimately shed the weight. Please stop punishing your body into shrinking! If this resonates with you, click on the link in my bio and join a private community to help support your health journey. The focus for this month will be on metabolic cleansing! Happy Valentines Day I got to spend some alone time with my hubby this morning as the kids slept in. Being in lockdown doesn't give us much alone time these days! Lockdown has brought its challenges. But one benefit is that it helps me savor and appreciate the small things in life.... Wishing you a day filled with sunshine and love. ---- How has this past year changed you?

PMS is actually a sign of hormonal imbalance. Easily addressed with nutrition & lifestyle changes! Not dramatic changes. Just proper nutrition... Mindset shifts Healthy movement Sleep For most people, this is all that's necessary. For others, supplementation may be necessary. Good news, right??? I felt so empowered when I corrected my own PMS! Here's what we accept as NORMAL during our cycles: cramps heavy bleeding irregular periods breast tenderness cravings bloating fatigue irritability mood swings loss of appetite night sweats headaches hot flashes All of the above can be corrected. I address all of this in my 21-day Reset. Click here https://www.nutritionherway.com/21-Day-Reset to get on the waitlist for our next session in March. Save this post to remind yourself that PMS and most ailments are not 'normal.' Just a signal from your body trying to tell you something needs to change. See more
