Before After . What was once the kitchen is now the mudroom and laundry room. When this house was built in 1938, they tucked the kitchen into the back corner,... and the dinning room claimed the largest foot print on the main level of the home. . Changing the layout of the main floor was the biggest undertaking of our Reno story, but the struggle was worth it. Here on the east coast we enjoy a kitchen party and this kitchen was not doing Nova Scotia hospitality justice. The new floor plan means you can come through the side door hang up your coat and walk through to the party. It also means that it’s a lot less likely I will walk past the laundry without changing it over to the dryer :) @ Halifax, Nova Scotia
