Our front desk staff are back to answering the phones but with limited hours. Your oral care is our number one priority and we can’t wait to see you but we are still very limited in the appointments we can book. As we are sure you have heard, B.C. has announced plans to move to Phase 2 of our restart plan in mid-May. Currently, we are waiting for our governing bodies to establish provincial protocols and a firm date of opening to be determined. Please be patient with us as we wait for the necessary directives. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Dear patients of Oak Bay Dental Centre, In the words of our Prime Minister today, exceptional circumstances are calling for exceptional measures, and it is time to take every precaution to keep everyone, especially the most vulnerable, safe. In alignment with today's direction from the Office of the Provincial Health Officer, our Dental College has made the following recommendations and guidance in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This guidance is in place until further no...tice. All elective and non-essential dental services are to be suspended. As such, we will be in contact with you in order to cancel scheduled appointments on a week by week basis. We will however, remain available for the management of emergency treatment for our patients of record. Emergency treatment includes immediate treatment due to infection, acute pain or trauma. Pre-screening by phone will be required to ensure a thorough pre-treatment risk assessment that includes risk to the patient, to the oral heath care provider and to the greater community before any treatment is undertaken. If risks are identified that cannot be immediately or sufficiently mitigated, the determined care must be postponed or referred to another facility. Please know that we have continually practiced high standards of Infection Control Protocols not only during this Pandemic, but routinely as required by our Standards of Practice. These are indeed extraordinary circumstances that require us all to do our part.
