Over the last three years, Oak Bay Rotary Foundation contributed to two successful community-service projects: $90K fundraising campaign for Sno’uyutth Welcome Pole at Oak Bay High School; and $100K fundraising campaign for Steinway Concert Piano at Dave Dunnet Community Theatre. The Foundation was granted charitable registration on January 28, 2011. The Foundation’s mandate is to advance education in Oak Bay and Greater Victoria. For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2017:... 1. The Foundation added a second annual scholarship award available to students graduating from Oak Bay High School; 2. The Foundation was joined by four community partners** to advance education in Oak Bay and Greater Victoria; 3. Compared to fiscal 2016, the Foundation’s 2017 donation income increased 252% and assets increased 243%; and 4. The Foundation’s cumulative donation income surpassed both $100K and $150K. Over the last five years, the Foundation’s: (a) endowment assets (permanent scholarship funding) have more than doubled (from $23.3K to $48.9K); and (b) operating expenses have amounted to less than 1.5% of donation income ($1.7K on $124.9K). **Oak Bay Rotary Foundation is pleased to announce that it has been joined by: Community Association of Oak Bay; Oak Bay High School Alumni Association; Oak Bay News; and Scotiabank Oak Bay. Working together, the partners will focus on promoting and delivering Sno’uyutth Legacy Scholarship to indigenous students graduating from Oak Bay High School and pursuing further education. Oak Bay Rotary Foundation together with the Rotary Club of Oak Bay initiate and participate in local and international service projects. Working together, the goal of the Foundation and Club is to achieve Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self.
