'Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet' is the theme of this year's #internationalbreastfeedingweek My personal theme is 'Couldn't have breastfed without the support of midwives and nurses.' This serene picture does not capture the many challenges we initially had with latch, infant weight gain, tongue tie and mastitis. Without these wonderful women guiding and encouraging me, I likely couldn't have done it. Because of this, I'm empathetic of all of the challenges we go through as mamas and the personalized choices that we make for our families. #supportnursesandmidwives

Tonight's Solidarity Rally in the Cowichan Valley was too late for my toddler but our bedtime reading was 'A is for Activist' by Innosanto Nagara.

Bees busy at work in the garden. I was wondering why I never see honey bees on rhodo flowers (only bumblebees) and just learned they have nectar which is toxic to honey bees :( But they are going crazy for the chive flowers right now. Do you have favorite bee loving plants? Always learning! #worldbeeday
