Butterfly Yoga Update and Call to Action PLEASE Read and Share! With our world opening back up, as we emerge from our own personal chrysalises, I am wondering when Butterfly Yoga can begin again. ... Running Butterfly Yoga was an absolute dream of mine; having to pause and potentially cease, has proven to be a challenging time. Those of you who were able to attend our first few events left simply GLOWING! I want to offer that opportunity again, but I am still unsure of what the landscape will look like when we try it again. I do not foresee an issue with keeping social distance rules, our mats already afford that distance between students, but numbers and PPE are an area of concern for me. Not gonna lie, this is was a labour of love, one that cost me money in starting up, my margins were as tight as a chrysalis about to burst. I assumed the risks because I felt it was a unique experience to offer people and believed eventually things would pick up. ... then COVID happened. You all have felt the fallout in your own worlds I’m sure, so I will spare the grim details of mine. COVID has a lot of us scared and rethinking our lives; a lot has been stripped away... will Butterfly Yoga be another casualty of COVID? I certainly hope not. I want Butterfly Yoga to emerge even stronger. We need to relive the magic that once was, I feel it’s important to carve out a space to experience Butterflies, Yoga and the intangible transformation that it provides. So here’s where I need your help! Take a moment and consider whether this is something you would be comfortable doing again, and then answer with when you would be willing to take these steps. I am dreaming of hosting these events again - not for any other reason than to offer strangers and friends alike the opportunity to experience the magic it provides. Please take a moment to comment (I can’t have crickets in the comment section - this isn’t CRICKET Yoga) and share this with your friends who may not yet know what we’ve been up to at the Conservatory. Get this out there! We have seen so many icons disappear in the wake of this pandemic, and for reasons greater than my own personal desires, I cannot see Butterfly Yoga take the same fateful turn. Stay safe, find peace and for goodness sake, let’s keep this ALIVE! With gratitude and anticipation, Michelle Alexander, RPN and Yogi 4 Life
Well... As expected, Butterfly Yoga is cancelled for March. Those who have prepaid will have their money refunded. Those who were hoping to come, please stay tuned as April dates will be announced when the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory reopens. If you have time, keep reading! You know what rots? We all really need yoga right now! We need a way, and a place, to feel safe from the ever rising tides!... If you have ever been to one of my classes you know stillness and trust are two things that emerge frequently in my class. Not so much in words, but through our movement and sometimes, appropriate discomfort, we learn to trust in the stillness. Somehow, over the course of 60 minutes, we lay our problems down (the superficial ones at least) and in their place find room in our hands and hearts for peace. I don’t know if you can recall a time when I have asked you to remember, to put a bookmark in that place of peace and clarity that savasana can often reveal. Can you? Can you recall a time when you felt weightless and free, without the aid of anything but your breath and the release of gentle movement? Because I’ll bet that’s what your body, mind and soul are thirsting for right now. So, even tho we can’t get together and experience the magical transformational power of butterfly yoga quite yet, know that I’ll be there to lead you when this passes! Until then, be mindful and BREEEEEATHE! Reach out if you need something that I can provide! With warmth, Michelle from Butterfly Yoga

Important information for those hoping to attend Butterfly Yoga with Michelle this upcoming Sunday, PLEASE READ. News of this event has travelled farther than I could have expected. I have been contacted by countless people from avenues I couldn’t possibly connect. People seem to be interested... very interested! This is wonderful, but also gives me a bit of concern; I do not want to cause disappointment by not having enough space for the next Butterfly Yoga event. ... I am nearly at half my capacity with confirmed bookings (done through email: [email protected]). That leaves about 20 spots left. If the event page is any indication of others who are interested, we may have to turn people away, and I can’t think of a cruddier disappointment for a Sunday morning. Just tossing this out there, if you were thinking of coming I suggest booking your spot soon! Thanks so much for taking the time to read. It’s a busy world, your time is important! I await sharing the butterfly effect with you this Sunday at 9:00! Michelle
