#AsianHeritageMonth The OAWA is proud to recognize the diversity of our organization, athletes, coaches, trainers and community. Stay tuned as we highlight accomplishments from athletes of Asian heritage this month! Kirti Saxena ... Multiple time world team member. 5th place at 2016 Cadet Worlds 10th place at 2017 Cadet Worlds Best Wrestler in Canada 2016. Multiple time Provincial Champion What does Asian Heritage Month mean to you? I am proud to represent south asian women in sports. In our culture, it is rare to see high performance athletes that are female, especially as fighters. My dad made sure that I would break these stereotypes and supported me along my journey. In the process, I became the first female south asian wrestler to represent Canada at the level that I did. For that, I am eternally grateful and hopeful that I am a good role model for south asian women in sports. #olympicwrestling #womenswrestling #wrestlingcanada #freestylewrestling #womeninsport #stopasianhate
