After joining the Women's National Team in 2001, Jenna Flannigan helped Canada win the bronze at the 2012 World Cup in Edmonton and was named an All-Star. She also won a National Championship with Team Ontario in 2013 and earned the Top Hitter title. #WomenInBaseballWeek
As a 13-year old, Jorja Sandilands was the youngest player to be selected to play on the 16U Ontario Girls Team. Her strong defence helped her Rep team win the 13U AAA Rep Championship on the way to claiming the Baseball Ontario 2019 13U Player of the Year. #WomenInBaseballWeek
Last year, Baseball Ontario Level 3 umpire Morgan Herrington was one of 4 Ontario umpires to attend the MLB Umpire Camp in Vero Beach, FL where she was invited by MLB to the Trailblazer Series in California. #WomenInBaseballWeek
In 2004, Samantha Magalas became the first woman in Canadian history to play for a men's university baseball team. She also played on the Women's National team from 2004-2009 and was an an All-Star at the Women's World Cup in 2004. #WomenInBaseballWeek
As a member of the Women's National Team from 2011-14 and 2018, Hannah Martensen played in 3 Women's World Cup Championships. She is now a baseball instructor in and the co-chair of National Capital Girls Baseball, growing baseball in the Ottawa area. #WomenInBaseballWeek
Vi Christopher was Baseball Ontario's first female President, serving from 1987-88. She served her community and the province for over 35 years. Vi was awarded Honourary Member status in 1998 and was inducted into the Baseball Ontario Hall of Fame in 2013. #WomenInBaseballWeek
National level umpire and senior course conductor Tosha Hains began umpiring in the Tillsonburg area in the late 1980s. Tosha umpired in the independent pro league playing out of London and was the first woman to umpire at the Baseball Canada Cup. #WomenInBaseballWeek
Former Ontario Women's Team pitcher Elizabeth Benn has worked her way through the ranks of MLB from intern to her current role as Senior Coordinator of Player Programs, Baseball Development, & Diversity. She has also instructed at Jays Care Foundation events. #WomenInBaseballWeek
Emma Carr began has played for the Ontario Women’s Team since 2011 & at Nationals was named the top defensive player in 2014, & top hitter in 2019. She joined the Women's National Team in 2014 & serves as the Elite Coordinator for Canadian Girls Baseball. #WomenInBaseballWeek
As a pitcher and shortstop for her local 13U & 14U House League and Select teams, Mary Green combined for 70 plate appearances and an on base percentage of .724 earning herself the 2019 Baseball Ontario 13U Select Player of the Year. #WomenInBaseballWeek
Natalie Shears began her umpiring career at the age of 12 and by the time she was 16, had earned herself the title of Baseball Ontario Umpire of the year. Last year, Natalie was one of 4 Ontario women umpires to attend the MLB Umpire Camp in Vero Beach, FL. #WomenInBaseballWeek
In 2016, Barb Henry was named the Baseball Ontario & WOBA Volunteer of the Year. A Past President of the Western Ontario Baseball Association, Barb is currently a VP for WOBA in addition to serving on the OBA Select Council and Board of Management. #WomenInBaseballWeek
A fixture on the mound for the Women's National Team for over a decade, Autumn Mills was often the pitcher to get the nod whenever Team Canada needed a win. She has helped grow girls baseball through the Toronto Blue Jays Academy & still plays for Ontario. #WomenInBaseballWeek
