Hi Everydog Family. What a year, hey? We will remain closed until further notice, likely until the US border opens, which means we may be closed over the summe...r. There are not enough families needing our service right now, and we can't afford to stay open for the one or two families at a time who are doing small home renovations, or camping for the weekend. We are fortunate to have a second business we can give our time and energy to, and will focus on that until it makes sense to open the kennel again. We are referring our clients with summer plans, to our friends at K-Lane Kennels. Tell Louise we sent you, so she can be sure to thank me with some of that fine Saskatchewan honey. :) Take care out there. We miss you. -Ashley & Lonnie

There are a million reason I would never apply or get my dog/cat to ingest insecticides like flea and tick treatments. Terrible what these insecticides are do...ing to the planet. The problem is these chemicals are so potent, he said, even at tiny concentrations. We would expect them to be having significant impacts on insect life in rivers. One flea treatment of a medium-sized dog with imidacloprid contains enough pesticide to kill 60 million bees - Prof Dave Goulson The researchers said the blanket use of flea treatments should be discouraged and that new regulation is needed. Currently, the flea treatments are approved without an assessment of environmental damage. https://www.theguardian.com//pet-flea-treatments-poisoning In other news: The FDA is alerting pet owners and veterinarians of the potential for neurologic adverse events in dogs and cats when treated with drugs that are in the isoxazoline class : FDA Statement - https://www.fda.gov//fact-sheet-pet-owners-and-veterinaria Peer-Reviewed Paper Out of the 2,751 respondents: When any flea treatment (Bravecto, Nexgard, Simparica) was given to dogs, 66.6% of respondents experienced a REACTION to the treatment!- https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/vms3.285

These puppies were raised with #puppyculture , which is a systematically laid out program for early desensitization to and experiences with everyday sounds, sig...hts, smells, and other stimuli that often cause concern in dogs. Things like vacuuming, grooming, handling, different foods, and other experiences are introduced to the puppies when their brains are still easily forming new neural pathways, so that when they encounter these experiences later in life, they are either a non-event, or something the puppy can quickly recover from. It’s a real joy to not have to worry about these things and do the often difficult desensitization work, and instead focus on other life skills. If you are looking to buy or adopt a puppy, ask if the puppy has been raised with Puppy Culture (google for more information), or some other program to help accustom the puppy to the world. It’s worth the effort! #dogtraining #puppysocialization #helperdogsarehelping #workingdogs #malinoispuppy #letsomeonedotheworkforyou #ashleysschoolforpuppyprodigies See more
