Rahma Mohamed was raised in Hargeisa, Somalia. Her family immigrated to Canada. They arrived in Quebec in which she attended her first formal school. the primary few years were terribly troublesome for her because she was the only black Somalian woman in her category. She endured years of bullying thanks to her inability to talk the language and for being completely different. When she became a mother, she launched children's books to encourage youth to be happy with their u...nquietness by celebrating diversity. Noticing an absence of diversity within the marketplace for Muslim children's books and recollecting her own struggles of growing up as a migrant, she became determined to supply books focused on characters that are Muslim and with African roots. Rahma believes that kids have to be able to identify themselves within the book so they can boost their self-assurance as well as bolster their sense of pride. She promotes her message by visiting faculties in Edmonton and Internationally.
