TODAY on Stocking Island, Georgetown, Chris and I "STARTED" AN ART TRAIL ON SAND DOLLAR BEACH SHIP SHACK. So this means that it is to be continued by anyone who... feels like adding their own creations in respect to nature. Jill Noel Mcgrath who lives here full time on HB Panda asked me if I could start an Art trail and Chris SV Atlas told me he would love to participate. He actually is the creator of the an other ART TRAIL in the Abaco Islands. So I did I accepted the challenge! So today Chris Vonderheide and I spent 4 hours creating art from nature. CHALLENGING PAINTING IN PROGRESS!! Created on SV Maitre D Voilier/Sailboat : Endeavour 1979 CC Ketch 43' I think that this painting is the most intense painti...ng I have ever done. I don't usually fight with my art! I can't seem to do what I want. I wanted to paint a beautiful blue sky with white fluffy clouds behind all the people holding hands. I wanted this image to be calm and peaceful. But I just can't do it! I tried, but it was not working out. The reds, oranges and gold took over. When I step back and look at it, it looks dramatic and don't get me wrong, I do love it so far, it's just challenging! I kept wanting to give up, but I continued because I know that art is theraputic and I am going somewhere with it. I also have other challenges, alot of my acrylique paint is so old and stiff (some of it is 30years old, no joke, from when I was in college). I don't have any gesso to put on this cheap canvas (next time I am painting on wood, I enjoy it so much more), so the paint was kind of slippery. Oh and my eyes are getting old!! Darn!! ...and lighting on a sailboat is not the best, during the day as the boat moves around with the wind so does the sun. I am not sure if I am keeping the drawing in the middle, I might change it. To be continued!
