Memories of rolling down a life cliff. . Last year I was published in a magazine with International exposure. I was so damn excited, I had big big goals and aspirations. .... Three months prior to this launch event my daughter (Kidney transplant & Diabetes) moved over to adult healthcare and she needed surgery. Surgery came with a complication and we fought to have her taken care of for four months. The carpet was already slipping. . Three weeks prior to this event my husband broke eight ribs, collapsed a lung and bruised his kidney in a dirt bike accident. I was starting to fall. . Six weeks after this event I hosted my very own Ava Blake Show using my five years of experience running the Alberta Dames markets. It took me a year to curate. What a dream that was. . Ten days before my event my daughter gets a cancer diagnosis. (Two months later it was determined to be not a full cancer but a pre cancer, long story) The carpet was officially yanked out from under me and I fell flat on my tailbone. . I made it through the 2019 Christmas season for Ava Blake and come January 2020 I stayed in bed most days just trying to let my body recover. . March 2020 covid hit. We entered our bubble and fears set in with my medically fragile family. . Fast forward to date, six months. I sold my house, bought an 18 yr old fixer upper house. Currently still renovating. Happy to be designing and creating. . Life can be really crazy tragic magic awful and beautiful. I live it. I still forever look ahead, rarely back but this time my body wants to process...ugh, this is a lot to process. I don’t like staying down. . Please don’t forget my Ava Blake creations. I am working hard to heal and find my creativity again. I want to keep creating things that make us laugh. Laughter is imperative in survival for us humans. Also keep sharing your journeys because it helps me in mine. . If I had my own sitcom I wonder if the writers could be this good in all that has happened in the past year? .
