Spero would like to thank @mikeschreinergpo, the MPP of Guelph and leader of the Ontario Green Party for the insightful meeting this morning. Mike graciously shared his thoughts on Spero’s current initiatives and plans for future campaigns in the Guelph community. He provided us with some amazing advice regarding strategies to alleviate burdens associated with poverty and eliminate food waste. Moving forward, Spero is excited to potentially work with a variety of businesses ...and organizations dedicated to implementing Canada's first circular food economy in the Guelph-Wellington region. As members of the Guelph community, we feel inclined to help reconstruct the unsustainable take-make-dispose model of food consumption. Coming off the success of our previous campaigns, Spero Foundation is proud to announce our latest COVID care package response. Our packages have been graciously funded by a subdivision of the Canada Service Corps, the Rising Youth program. However, we continue to look to increase our outreach and are still accepting donations. As usual, all proceeds received will go towards the purchase, assembly and distribution of these care packages. We are looking forward to helping maintain the warmth and health of those we hope to aid by your side. Following a successful completion of our last fundraiser, the Spero Foundation team immediately began organizing our next campaign aimed at providing homeless individuals and individuals in Toronto’s shelter system with Support Care Packages. These Support Care Packages consisted of hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, lotion, an infographic with important COVID-related information and more. They have been planned and assembled with sanitation and self-care in mind as less fortunat...e individuals are more vulnerable and exposed to COVID amongst other diseases when compared to the average individual. With the support of @takingitglobal and @risingyouthtig we were able to successfully gather and distribute over 170 packages at Moss Park, Toronto. At Spero, we pride ourselves in making a positive impact in our immediate and greater community. That same impact would not be possible without the help from everyone who donates, shares our message or offers support in any way. We hope to continue to grow and we can’t do it without you! Coming off the successful completion of our last fundraiser dedicated to providing free meals and beverages for those in need in Egypt, Spéro Foundation has begun organizing our next campaign aimed at providing homeless individuals and individuals in Toronto’s shelter system with Support Care Packages. These Support Care Packages will consist of hand sanitizer, gloves, masks, lotion, an infographic with important COVID-related information and more. They have been planned and ...will be put together with sanitation and self-care in mind as less fortunate individuals are more vulnerable and exposed to COVID among other diseases when compared to the average individual. Each care package costs roughly 11 Canadian dollars and we will put together as many as financially possible depending on funds raised. We will also be accepting any clothing that you wish to donate and will be distributing them at the same time as the care packages. If you are located in Mississauga, Brampton, Guelph, Oakville or East Toronto, we will be available to pick-up any articles. At Spéro, we pride ourselves in making a positive impact in our immediate and greater community. That same impact would not be possible without the help from everyone who donates, shares our message or offers support in any way.
