Our friends over at The COAL MINE have their second preview of Hand to God tonight! To celebrate, we are sharing a little information about some of the fantastic women on their team. "Jennifer Kidson returns to the Coal Mine for her fourth season as the web and marketing manager. Each season is so unique and I have enjoyed working closely with Diana and Ashley to create marketing campaigns that resonate with our growing Coal Mine community. Jennifer has been working in the media industry for nine years as a digital content producer, marketing strategist, and website consultant." Hand to God runs at The COAL MINE from April 21st-May 12th! Don't miss it!

In celebration of the opening of Hand to God for our friends over at The COAL MINE, we're featuring some of the talented women in their crew! "Ashley Westlake is the structural engineer at the Coal Mine, and handles anything from ticketing, fundraising, general company and production specific operations. Basically, we couldn’t operate without her! Ashley came to the Coal Mine with a strong understanding of the Toronto theatre landscape, and has since been instrumental in many transformations that have taken place." Celebrate Ashley's work on Hand to God at The COAL MINE from April 21st - May 12th! Second preview is happening tomorrow night!

In celebration of the opening of Hand to God for our friends over at The COAL MINE, we're featuring some of the talented women in their crew! Lindsay Dagger Junkin, based in Toronto, is joining The Coal Mine for the first time in Hand to God as the costume designer. I like to take a modular approach to my designs; with my aim as an artist to reuse items, change their function, or create a new way to view them. Lindsay has also been recognized with several awards, including a Dora Mavor Moore Award for ‘Outstanding Independent Costume Design.’ Check out Lindsay's work in Hand to God at The COAL MINE from April 21st - May 12th! First preview is tonight!!

Anahita Dehbonehie is an Iranian stage designer, production designer and installation artist, currently based in Toronto. Her design work has been featured across Canada and internationally. My practice is founded on the principle that works of art return us to truths more powerfully by their relationship to evocative sensory experiences. Anahita has been recognized with a variety of nominations and awards in design, including a Dora Award for ‘Scenic Design’ in The COAL MINE’s Toronto premiere of The Aliens. Check out Anahita's work on Hand to God at The COAL MINE from April 21st - May 12th!

Looking for something fun to do this Sunday? All hell is breaking loose for our friends at The COAL MINE for the Toronto premiere of Hand to God, a blasphemous puppet show written by Robert Askins, directed by Mitchell Cushman and starring Frank Cox-O’Connell, Ted Dykstra, Amy Keating, Francis Melling, and Nicole Underhay, April 21 May 12, 2019. In their final production of their fifth season, Hand to God, The COAL MINE are particularly excited to welcome the award winning... set designer, Anahita Dehbonehie, back for her second collaboration with us, as well as costume designer Lindsay Dagger Junkin. We love a crew full of talented women and will be featuring them on our facebook page on the lead up to opening night!

We found this lovely passage in The Varsity! Thank you, Teodora! "The beautiful thing about theatre, though, is that it can force people to pay attention. The medium itself is a vessel for conversation, and campus productions like What She Said...have critically engaged with stories of sexism and harassment and elevated the stories of survivors." https://thevarsity.ca/2018/09/23/scenes-from-the-shadows/
