Today is National Volunteer Day and as Chair of OLEH Society I’d like to say a big thank you to the Board and all the volunteers who have helped out over the past year to keep the Park maintained and available for all the dogs of East Hants and beyond. Well done guys and a huge thank you x

**ALERT** We have been advised that the wasps are back by the ramp to the shelter in the large dog park. Please approach this area with caution if you use the park. The area will be sprayed today but due to its location under the shelter we have been unable to remove the nest completely.

*** Notification*** ******We have another nest under the stairs/ramp on the shelter which goes over the fenceline of the small and large dog park. We need to have the ramp moved and the stairs lifted to access the nest. ****** We are working to have this done urgently and will be co-ordinating with Gerald Walsh/Simon Turner ******Please take care when using the park and shelters******

***WARNING*** We appear to have a wasps nest under the shelter flooring in the small dog park. We have arranged for Total Pest Control to deal with it on Monday but until then please take extra care around the shelter that straddles the Memorial Fence

Today we had a very special request from the Thompson family in honour of their beloved Capelyn who has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. So if you have forgotten your ball please use one of Capelyns and leave it back in the basket for others to play with. This is the note we received from Norma, her Mum; Hi there. We dropped off the basket! It was emotional..we actually saw a dog there tonight that resembled Capelyn. There is a write up with the basket. Her birthday would've... been this month..she would've been 16yrs old. She was an amazing, friendly dog. She was loyal to us right til the end by saying goodbye in her own unique way. We wanted to do something special for the dog park in her memory. The park came after she died and it would've been her dream place. We placed the basket near the fence with tags. Please be aware there are wasps in the Park by the ramp to the Memorial Wall in the large dog park and under the shelter in the small dog park. We have sprayed them this morning but couldn’t see a nest, so please BEWARE

Following reports of wasps/ hornet nests in the poop bag dispensers we have been down to the park this morning and cleared them out and sprayed all the boxes inside and out. Please let us know if you find any more and we will get it sorted. Thank you

A hornet's nest was located in the shelter of the small dog park. Gerald Walsh @Total Pest Control has removed it for us. If you come across any others please let us know.

We have a request....we installed 3 rain barrels but had no rain since. If your coming to the park we would appreciate if you could bring a container of water to add to the barrels.
