Are you ready? First ever completed iNav4U product ready to go!!
The long awaited moment where we connect inav4U on the first boat happens in the next week. Because of Covid we were not able to travel to friend boats for testing. We reached out to local Nova Scotia yachters willing to help us test and got lucky so we will make a trip to Halifax and let you all know how it goes. We just need to ensure we can connect and receive data from the boats instruments successfully. Our next step will be to build 20 units for distribution worldwide to our official beta testers.
Believe it or not we are still working on Bob. Lots of changes for us this year moving onto land and an old house I owned in Nova Scotia. Lots of work on the house but still time for working on BoB! Being unable to travel this year to friends boats for beta testing was kind of a bummer but we have found a sailor in Halifax who is game to help us further test our NMEA bus communications. Once we stabilize Olivier and I will be reaching out fairly shortly to look for real-time beta testers. We think we will build about 25 units and send them out to folks to have them do the beta installs on their own. That will be a real test as we are trying to make it so super simple you can just plug Bob into the bus open a browser and complete a couple of steps and then if all goes well then I guess Bob’s your uncle
Our User interface is getting pretty functional. We are working extensively to get the first test version available to the test boats. Here some screenshots.
We know it’s been a long while since we posted with a progress report on how we are making out with our development on Bob. As most of you may know Olivier Hendrikx and I have sold the boat and we are getting ready to head back to land for a bit so we can finish up testing, followed by a beta test with some of you. While we are doing that we will be working on a new website, marketing materials etc and I can get to work on a sales plan. As part of that plan I intend to reach ...out to many Sailing YouTubers to gage interest in helping us with our beta testing and spreading the word. We leave French Polynesia this week, our last sail on Inspirity to deliver her to her new owners in Vancouver via Hawaii. We expect to be at sea for about five weeks with a stop over for a couple of days in Hawaii. Once we reach Vancouver we have planned a trip across Canada to our home in Nova Scotia. Where we will continue with our work on Bob and inav4u.com As always we love to hear from you guys so feel free to reach out anytime!
