OHEYS SUMMER CAMP IS ON !! Calling all campers, coaches and volunteers!! OHEYS Autism Programs had initially cancelled all our summer camps & evening programs. However, we recently met with Manitoba Family Services to discuss the stress experienced by parents, families and youth on the autism spectrum, with no school for 3 months and very little summer day programming being offered. We agreed to develop & deliver a VERY MODIFIED summer day camp for age 12-17+ with field trips... daily, including to the pool, bowling, Lazertopia, and more outdoor field trips to be planned (while meeting all the field trip location specifications as well). Camp will run Mon-Fri, July 20-24 and July 27-31. Campers may sign up for 1 or 2 weeks for fun, fun, fun (mostly in the sun). COACHES / VOLUNTEERS - We are looking for YOU!! In the past OHEYS camps included free lunch as an important social time together, and campers and coaches typically shared the responsibility to make lunch and clean up. That is not possible under this situation, so we are looking for lunch prep volunteers (who know how to wield a veggie/watermelon chopping knife :) and for cleaning gym equipment between groups. PPE will be provided, including masks, hand sanitizer, gloves for food prep etc. CAMPERS - Please see application details. Campers will be grouped into 3 groups of 10, according to age and verbal/social/activity interests. Young adults who are CSS funded are also welcome to apply. Hi everyone! Unfortunately we've had to cancel our programming for the summer due to COVID-19. Hopefully this ends soon and we can all see each other again! We'll update everyone when we have programs available. BudSpud is currently tentatively postponed until September. We're working with the venue to find the best solution as well as waiting for further COVID-19 guideline restrictions.
