Our off the grid cottage is well underway!! Unfortunately, the A-frame was a no go on our lot, but I am super happy with the plan we ended up with. I will share lots more of the whole design soon:)

Sometimes clients just need help with their floorplan. This is another client from the states who was about to embark on a huge home renovation and was worried that the kitchen design her contractor was proposing wasnt going to work for her family. Its a huge long space and I needed to make sure that I gave here a functional work triangle while adding in everything she wanted. She was extremely happy with what we came up with and now feels confidant starting her reno.

Here is the final for a kitchen design project for amazing clients in Utah. They purchased the sweetest house and were not sure if they should completely gut the kitchen or work with what they have. We ended up removing a pantry and another partition to open the room to the dining area, having the cabinets painted with new counters and plaster backsplash and completely transformed the space without breaking their budget! Now they have money left over to tackle other spaces

One Room Challenge Week Four! I made a couple of tweaks, switched out the chair and ordered the pillows, small progress for the win. I am really busy these days, three online kitchen projects, a living room and we are in the thick of our cottage being built which is five hours away but its all very exciting! Working on my living room for the Spring One Room Challenge. Going for a modern eclectic feel, I havent got all of the details worked out yet but things will come together.

I love plants and always add them to my design, the only problem is I can never keep them alive. I am trying my hand at growing from seed right now and hoping to have a kick-ass vegetable garden this summer, we will see how it goes!

The nice thing about having an over 100-year-old home, lots of separate spaces for everyone to have their own nook. Love my kids by somedays are better than others!

This is the other option for my New Jersey client who is looking to make her new-build feel more cozy and comfortable. Which option would you choose this light and airy or the other option I shared yesterday?

I just finished up a couple of concepts for a lovely client that lives in New Jersey. She has an amazing new build home that she thought she wanted a modern farmhouse feel but after living with that look for three years is ready for more warmth and character. This was the first option, she is keeping her sectional, ottoman and console.

There is still a debate on the vanity configuration for my local bathroom design project. Either two separate vanities or one long vanity with a console in the middle, which would you prefer?

I just finished up a local bathroom design project. We are tearing down a few walls to make a couple of smaller closets, hallway and current bathroom into one large master bath and walk-in closet. But the first step in every project once I have collected all of the details is to get on the same page with the design direction. My client went for bold dark and moody, which I love!

How are you using this time? I have a couple of projects I am still working on but I am also taking this opportunity to learn some new skills and spend more time with my kids. We watched Dumb and Dumber last night and we all laughed our faces off!

I am sure many of you are like me and having feelings of overwhelm and uncertainty of what is to come next. At the same time, we still have work to get done. The problem lies in having kids home and plenty of distractions. Here are a few tips that I am implementing, let me know what you are implementing and what is working for you. * Getting up earlier, before kids to have a quiet house to get work done. *Plan activities like a walk or playing in the backyard. The fresh a...ir will do wonders for you and keep your kids from going stir crazy. *Be kind to yourself, limit the amount of news you consume and realize that working less right now is okay! Be productive with the time you have and you might get just as much done as you normally do. *If you dont have a dedicated home office use your dining table or kitchen table. Keep all your items in a tray or a basket that can be easily set up and take away when the table needs to be ready for normal use. Dont forget to breathe and realize this too shall pass.

The great thing about a custom kitchen is you can make sure you have a spot for everything! This custom wall of pantries gave my client all of the storage he needed.

I loved creating this kitchen design concept for a fun client in New Orleans. She loved both I created but instantly favoured this option with the deep blue island cabinets.

This is a concept board for a recent front hall design. It is an eclectic mix of items with a collection of mirrors going up the wall on the stairs. Would you add a gallery wall of mirrors?

Do you want to make the most of your kitchen, who doesnt! Even if you have a huge kitchen the layout and placement of items can make or break this highly used space. Once you have planned out the perfect layout for your kitchen, and believe me that is the most important part of any kitchen design. You can focus your attention on the inside of your cabinetry. This is where you can make the most of the space you have by using space-saving cabinet components. The great thing is... that a lot of these items can be added to your existing kitchen even if you arent renovating. The dreaded kitchen corner is always the hardest area to make functional. There are a couple of new innovations that help make the most of this space. There are wire pullouts, bank of corner drawers, and the classic lazy susan. Another option that many of my clients go with is a blind corner (where the corner base cabinets open up to each other) and decide to store small to medium-sized appliances that arent used all of the time. This option works well if these items arent used every day so you arent reaching in there all of the time. I am in the process of revamping my front hall and removing this gallery wall. I am going to move most of these family photos to another room. I love walking by and catching a glimpse of a fun moment in time. Do you hang family photos in your space?

In this kitchen, I designed a while back the client really wanted an island but it was a long and narrow space. We were able to get the island he wanted by knocking down the wall between the existing kitchen and the dining room.
