A few people have reached out to me recently wondering if they were perhaps not advanced enough yet to attend my bodhrán Masterclass next week. And to that, I reply that it is in fact a masterclass on the absolute fundamentals! It's perfect for absolute beginners just as much as for advanced bodhrán players. The intended purpose of it is to lay out the groundwork and a good foundation for beginners as well as to bring more advanced players back to basics and solidify their te...chnique. In fact, half of the people who have purchased a ticket so far are absolute beginners and have never touched a bodhran before! I believe that it doesn't matter where you are in your playing, everything is based on simple ideas and concepts and many of the things that we will be looking at are things that I started practising right from the start and things that are still a fundamental part of my practice today.
