The Library is upgrading its off-campus authentication server on May 17th beginning at 10 PM & lasting possibly up to 2 hours. Access to OCtopus, library databases, ebooks, and online research articles may be unavailable during this time. The Voyager library catalogue for renewing books and checking your account, Library Research Guides (LibGuides), LibCal for booking library spaces, Moodle, and the main library website will be not be affected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

New things are happening! The Library is in the process of decommissioning the Voyager library catalogue and migrating all data to a new system, which will be available as of May 28. In the interim, some services will be temporarily interrupted. From May 18 to 27, item availability status* in the Voyager catalogue will not be updated and may therefore be incorrect. Up-to-date availability information will be available in OCtopus as of May 28. * "item availability status" is Library-speak for: is this book/DVD on the shelf or does someone have it signed out?
Summer term is on! Check to see if your textbook is in the Library's e-textbook list http://ow.ly/3GCZ50EL6lT
Did you know that May 11, 2021 is Census Day in Canada? The earliest Canadian census was taken in 1666 in New France. The census has been adapted and changed over the years to gather better data about Canadians. The first time data were collected about same-sex couples was in 2001, and the 2021 census includes a new question about gender at birth, and a revised question about sex at birth. Data from the census is used by government, businesses, and many other groups to help ...provide services and better understand Canadians. Census data is protected by law, and Statistics Canada employees take an oath of secrecy for life! Do your legal duty to fill in the census online, or ensure someone in your household does. Everything you need to know is at census.gc.ca [NawNuu the Library Octopus did not complete the census, though they do enjoy data collection and believe their many arms would be useful for census enumeration]

It's finally over! The votes are in, and are pretty much all counted. Many ups and downs, many passionate arguments, but in the end, there can be only one winner. So, I am proud to finally be able to announce: The Vernon campus is the prettiest campus in the Okanagan College.
All campus libraries are closed today in honour of Remembrance Day. #lestweforget #canadaremembers
