Student Intern/Assistant-In-Training Position Overview The student intern reports to and communicates regularly with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to ensure daily goals are being met This position will be actively involved in all facets of maintaining the golf courses including but not limited to: course set up and daily maintenance practices, cultural procedures, fertilizer applications,... record keeping, irrigation repair and system maintenance This position can be tailored to meet specific learning objectives and is ideal for aspiring turf managers looking to gain necessary experience needed to further their careers in the industry The candidate will be required to provide direction, support, and development to other team members and will gain exposure to the management of a 36-hole facility This position entails a week of 5 days on and 2 days off with one of the days worked falling on a weekend. A standard work week will be 40 hours Qualifications Completed or currently enrolled in a recognized Turf Management Program and/or multiple years of golf course experience. Pesticide Applicator License preferred but not mandatory. Compensation Hourly wage $17-$20/hour based on experience, housing assistance negotiable Additional Benefits Golf privileges at all GolfBC properties and frequent team appreciation events
