Annually the Vernon Winter Carnival Society presents prestigious awards to well deserving recipients who have been instrumental in the growth of Carnival. The J...essie Ferguson Memorial Trophy is presented to a person or group in the community who has shown years of dedication to Carnival through support of events and/or volunteerism. This year's recipients are the team at Okanagan Restoration Services Ltd. Terry Moorhouse and Kelly Moorhouse have been dedicated volunteers, sponsors and participants with Vernon Winter Carnival for years, going above and beyond this year helping us with the repairs and upgrades to our Arrest the Best Jail. Sarah Moorhouse served as a director on the Carnival board, helping to grow the School Poster Contest, ensuring our next generations will grow up with Carnival. Their endless advocacy for this festival is amazing. Thank you for your dedication to Vernon Winter Carnival and your continued support, it means the world to us! *APPRECIATION POST* Yesterday I received a call at 5:07am that every business owner dreads, and so many local business owners in downtown Kelowna have experienc...ed. We got broken into, thankfully we don’t keep any cash on the premises. As I pulled up to THEsalon on St. Paul at just before 6am I just seen glass everywhere. A legitimate mess, the day before we open back up from our long deserved Christmas break. As a first timer to this type of situation I had no idea where to start. I called @heikemac with Johnston Mayer Insurance and she had @okanagan.restoration.services come clean the mess and board off the door. Then I proceeded to reach out to @lundo14 at Rutland Glass. Expecting this whole ordeal to drag on for weeks, boy was I wrong. They had a representative here within an hour to measure the door and by 2:00pm THE SAME DAY two installers showed up and put the new glass in. I can’t explain what a relief it was, to have your business secure and warm again just hours after someone violated it. The load off my shoulders was immense. Over the past couple of weeks we have been in Princeton dealing with the flooding. We were able to hire 10 young men from the @kijhlposse to work for us and help with the cleanup. We can say the work just as hard off the ice as on the ice. We were also able to donate and debut the Okanagan restoration beer for there game in kelowna against the @kelownachiefs with sales proceeds going to the flood relief. #supportlocalokanagan @kijhlhockey #princetonposse #247pilsner #copperbrewing #okanaganrestoration

We officially have the Okanagan Restoration 24/7 Pilsner #alwaysreadyalwaysthere. We decided to work with our friends @copperbrewing to put together a great label and beer for us, so this year we will be putting these amazing beers in gift baskets and giving them away to friends, family, clients amd industry friends over this holiday season. Make sure to check those furnace filters. They should be checked often when smoke is in there air and if you have pets.
