May your day be warm, your table filled with great company and your tummy filled with wonderful local food! Happy Thanksgiving from the Okanagan Food Hub Cooperative
Let us introduce you to sunshine farms. They are in a unique setting, offering Certified Organic Heritage/heirloom seeds on-line, at Okanagan Valley Seed Swaps and selected stores throughout British Columbia. Sunshine Farm is also home to Vocational Services for Adults in the Community Living Sector. The farm is set on 12 1/2 acres in South East Kelowna, and is comprised of rolling gardens, meadows, mow lands, and ponds. John and his team give more to the community than we could ever express in one post Sunshine Farm Seeds
Meet the Duecks. Married since 1995, Hans and Lisa moved to the Okanagan in 1996. Hans is a third generation farmer, and grew up doing chores and participating in farm life. He purchased his first farm at 19 years old and farmed commercially for twenty-five years. In 2011, the Duecks made a huge change, selling their commercial farm and building their dream farm from the ground up. One of the many wonderful parts of this new farm is that the whole family can participate together in raising fantastic chickens. #localfood #okanaganfarmers #okfoodhub #okfhc #familyaffair #supportlocal Sterling Springs Chicken
Say hello to Emily of Enderberry Farm. She is a north Okanagan certified organic grower that operates a market garden. Newish to the scene she spends her days developing her garden into her own paradise! Emily also loves to turn her produce into wonderfully delicious jams and spreads. Check out Shuswap Organics to learn more. You will be able to find her produce and products at our new store in Kelowna. #okfhc #okfoodhub #kelowna #okanaganvalley #okanaganfarmers #supportlocal #bethechange #100milediet
