It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nick Jar on February 4th 2022. Okanagan Heating will be observing a day of mourning and honorary su...pport for his family in recognition of his passing on February 17th 2022. Nick loved his business and his customers as much as he loved his family , we ask if you were touched by Nick through the 30 plus years of him serving the valley that you take a moment with us that day for him. There will be a small closed ceremony for family this day and a procession of his fleet in honor. If you would like to join in the procession we would ask a few things. The procession will be leaving promptly at 10:30AM February 17th leaving from our office at 150 A gray Road. 1-The lead vehicles in the procession will be his fleet vehicles, family & staff. Followed by friends and acquaintances. We ask that you kindly follow suit at the end of these vehicles. 2- As the procession will be following through a residential area there will be no time for extended periods of stopping we also ask this be a silent procession and would appreciate no horns during this time, however there will be a brief moment to leave a note for the family, flowers or donations to the Hospice house (Nick did mention it would be nice to have 2 ply toilet paper there! He was that guy always thinking about your comfort) 3-As we will be in a residential area please be courteous of neighbors and do your best to keep everything fluid and in motion. At the end of the procession we ask that you carry forward with your day. Between 3pm-11pm this day his family home will be open for you to offer your condolences if you wish. 4-There will be a gathering in the future where we hope all of his family, friends and acquaintances will be able to join us to celebrate his light. You will forever be missed our friend, and we will do our best to carry your legacy on . ZERO CONTACT APPOINTMENTS available. Call in to book the appointment provide a credit card for payment and an email address for receipt confirmation. The technician can be arranged to access the home via a side door entrance or garage entrance if needed for zero contact. We are licensed ,bonded, insured and are able to complete the service with minimal customer involvement. We do regularly require a signature but in times like these the act of booking and confirming the appoi...ntment will in turn replace the physical signature during these appointments. Tip from the AC Guys: Dog urine is the most detrimental factor to your outside condensing unit. Most people do not even realize they have a problem until spring cleaning comes around and you start to spray around the yard. The acid will eat away at the aluminum fins exposing the refrigerant lines, this could cause many issues, leaks and cooling problems . The best practice is to place a small garden fence a few feet away from the unit this will stop Fido from being able to pee directly on the unit and saving you thousands in replacement dollars. PSA: Due the recent Corona virus spread to BC and the Okanagan Area. We would like to remind our customers to not book service appointments until 14 days after your arrival from any type of travel. If you require to change an appointment due to this issue please call into the office and a customer service person will be happy to make these arrangements for you. Preventative infection control measures for risk reduction. What are we doing? We are starting conversation and appr...oaching each situation individually. When booking appointments we are asking about risks to our staff and customers i.e.; asking about travel or if any close family have been quarantined or isolated. We are being aware of our surroundings. Keeping social distance in mind when preforming workloads. We are taking measures to protect our staff and our customers, by implementing infection control measures. Using 1 time disposable gloves and boot covers with each appointment. We are utilizing hand washing before and after each appointment. It’s not that we don’t want to shake your hand, but we are for the time being going to pass on this greeting. We are gearing up our cleaning measures at each appointment by making sure we have washed all surfaces we have come in contact with. We would like to let all our customers know that our office is currently closed to walk in traffic only , but you can still call the office to make appointments, arrangements for payments or if you require to speak to a technician.
