Do you have a reclining chair? Young puppies and kittens love to run under and hide in reclining chairs. Kittens are especially likely to climb up inside the chair and curl up for a nap, so be sure to check where your pet is before reclining!

What should I do if my cat has a seizure? Remain calm and, if possible, move your cat to a safe place. Remember that when the seizure stops, your cat will be disoriented and may not recognize you. If the seizure doesnt stop, or your cat is having cluster seizures, visit us immediately.

Thanks Stephanie for your encouragement about my bird photography. Here is a Calliope Hummingbird I photographed at the Weaselhead in Glenmore Resevoir, The males arrive a few weeks prior to the females, stake out a territory and then put on an elaborate display for when the females arrive.

Do you do this?

Okotoks Veterinary Clinic 04.08.2019

Rescued Wren - when I was out birdwatching yesterday I discovered this House Wren snagged by a thin fishing line to a Bluebird box. I suspect the line was probably brought in as nesting material. I caught the bird, snapped the line but it was tight around the bird's foot. I was concerned that the line would strangle and amputate the foot. Having no tools to cut off the snag, I proceeded to break off a thin branch from a nearby tree and gently worked the snag free. This photo was taken right before I released the wren which flew off seemingly no worse for it's ordeal.
