Trimming your dogs nails play a vital role in maintaining your dogs health! Neglected nails not only drive you up the wall with their continuous clicking across the floor, but can also cause health problems in your dog.
Do you have a reclining chair? Young puppies and kittens love to run under and hide in reclining chairs. Kittens are especially likely to climb up inside the chair and curl up for a nap, so be sure to check where your pet is before reclining!
Beware of the scraps that fall on the ground when you're eating! Chocolate, coffee grounds, tea, salt, avocados, grapes, onions, garlic, macadamia nuts and anything containing xylitol is dangerous for your pet.
We hope you're having the ultiMUTT day!

The Art Guy came and re-did part of our window. He drew Dr Mark. What do you think? Can you see a resemblance? #okotoksveterinaryclinic #okotoksvet
Cats spend about 70% of their lives sleeping, which is why they make great cuddle partners!
Fun fact: A Greyhound dog can beat a Cheetah in a long distance race. Crazy, right!
Dogs have many reasons for barking, including when they want something like going outside, or even separation anxiety barking.

Willet - E. of Calgary. Wouldn't we all like to spread our wings and fly .....
I love how these Forester's Terns hover prior to plunging into the water for their catch. This is a common bird around many of or lakes. Photographed this week south of Calgary.
Thanks Stephanie for your encouragement about my bird photography. Here is a Calliope Hummingbird I photographed at the Weaselhead in Glenmore Resevoir, The males arrive a few weeks prior to the females, stake out a territory and then put on an elaborate display for when the females arrive.
We can't wait to meet your pets and give them the best care possible during their visit here. Call us today!

Near Langdon, Alberta today. This bird was very vocal and swooped close to investigate us.
Did you know these signs of trust?
The Eastern Kingbird is a common summer visitor to Alberta and by the looks of this bird they are thriving on the abundant harvest of mosquitoes this year.
I photographed this Double-crested Cormorant perched over the Bow River a couple of days ago. Here he is drying off his wings after his fishing foray on the river.
Still cute though!
Canada Day flyover the Bow River by a Great Blue Heron
Just good old fashioned blackbirds photographed along the Bow River on Canada Day. A juvenile male Yelloew-headed Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Red-winged Cowbird and European Starlings.
Do you do this?
Rescued Wren - when I was out birdwatching yesterday I discovered this House Wren snagged by a thin fishing line to a Bluebird box. I suspect the line was probably brought in as nesting material. I caught the bird, snapped the line but it was tight around the bird's foot. I was concerned that the line would strangle and amputate the foot. Having no tools to cut off the snag, I proceeded to break off a thin branch from a nearby tree and gently worked the snag free. This photo was taken right before I released the wren which flew off seemingly no worse for it's ordeal.
Do you think your dog knows their real name?
