As per the new restrictions just announced by the Alberta Government, the Okotoks Public Library is closed effective Wednesday, April 7. We will continue to offer curbside pickup, virtual programming, curated picks by library staff and our eResources are available 24/7. New and renewal memberships will be available online at www.okotokslibrary.ca or at our front door during regular operating hours.... The library will be open tonight until 8:00pm if you would like to pick up some last-minute items!

Why does the library need to expand? As part of the Okotoks Arts and Learning Campus, we welcome the opportunity to serve our community members. Due to our limited meeting spaces, prior to Covid-19 we regularly turned away individuals, community groups, and programming partners because we simply do not have the rooms to meet everyone’s conferencing needs. The new library will have its own 80-person adult program room, enlarged children’s play space, dedicated children’s progr...am room, two flex/makerspace rooms equipped with sinks, and two private 2-3 person studying rooms. Our next virtual family event is our Fantasy Hockey League on Wednesday, January 20th! Experience all the ups and downs of the very unique 56 game 2021 National Hockey League season. Families can work together to draft your team of forwards, defense and goaltenders as your team chases the Stanley Cup. The draft will be held via ZOOM and stats and standings will be updated every week. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the season. Here is how they affect the library: - Masks must be worn at all times while in the library. - All in-person programs have been cancelled. Library staff are working on ways to offer virtual programs - stay tuned! - We will be monitoring the number of people in the building at all times.... - Seating has been removed from the Children's Area. - Individual study tables are still available at this time. - Hours of operation remain the same.
