Daily moxibustion has been shown to considerably improve immunity, and it is very easy and inexpensive to do yourself at home. This study is in regards to TB but is quite relevant and interesting. We sell individual moxa sticks, or packs of 5, for about a dollar a stick. Comes with personalized instructions. Get in touch for more info. Stay safe and well this winter https://www.moxafrica.org/resultsofresearch

"The new oath asks physicians to eliminate their personal biases, combat disinformation to improve health literacy and be an ally to minorities and other underserved groups in society. It also calls on doctors to learn about the social determinants of health "to use my voice as a physician to advocate for a more equitable health care system from the local to the global level."

http://antiracistnow.org/course/ "How to be a Healthcare Antiracist is an education series that is geared towards Antiracist beginners and allies. This series is intended to provide participants with the foundational tools required to begin the individualized transition to an Antiracist agent of change in Healthcare. This initial course will focus on exploring the legacy of racism in medicine and how that knowledge can be used to begin the gradual development of intentional antiracist thought and behavior."

Please help federal employees access acupuncture. Over the years I've been approached by many, but their benefits package only covers acupuncture provided by an MD (who would only receive a few hours of acupuncture training, and there aren't very many who do it). A simple sign or share could help thousands. Thanks!

My first #gojiberry harvest! Goji / gou qi zi is part of the nightshade family and like other nightshades, it grows abundantly well in this Okanagan climate. As a TCM herb #gouqizi is used for things like vision, tinnitis, dizziness, sore / weak back and knees, premature aging signs, and impotence when caused by liver or kidney yin deficiency. I love gou qi zi and #juhua (chrysanthemum) tea for the eyes, tinnitus and some headaches. Deliciously honey sweet without sweetener.... Be careful using gou qi zi if you have loose stools (spleen deficiency dampness) - a little goes a long way ~Please seek professional guidance from a qualified herbalist or TCM doctor or practitioner before using herbal medicine #tcmherbs #traditionalchinesemedicine #herbalmedicine #communityacupuncturist #communityherbalist #acupuncture #okanagan #similkameen #nightshade #yintonic See more

For the past three weeks, AWB has offered pop-up mobile clinics for first responders and wildfire evacuees in California. While the fires are still burning there, the acute need for first responder and evacuee support is now in Oregon. Unbreathable air and heavy smoke is covering the entire West Coast. Since CoVid began, AWB has organized treatment teams in Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, Santa Cruz, Minneapolis, Los Angeles and other cities across the country. While these tea...ms have been treating stress and trauma related to CoVid, protests, and systemic social injustice, many are now mobilizing to offer fire relief when enough smoke clears for safe outdoor mobile clinics. Special focus is on treating first responders, farmworkers, evacuees, and people without homes. AWB is supplying our teams with disaster relief kits that contain enough supplies to treat 200 people, outside, in CoVid-era mobile clinics. Kits contain all acupuncture and medical supplies, as well as PPE for practitioners, no-touch thermometers, and masks for patients. Each kit costs $100, which equals $2 of supplies per treatment. Please donate to the Disaster Relief Kit Fund today! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for 100 kits that can be used on the West Coast and across the US in the coming year. https://acupuncturistswithoutborders.z2systems.com//donati&

Elizabeth Ropp’s interview with Jewel Thais Williams, from "Jewel’s Catch One - about a night club owner and Gay Liberation leader who becomes an acupuncturist and the founder of a non-profit health clinic. The documentary Jewel’s Catch One is streaming on Netflix. "Jewel’s Catch One’s documents the oldest Black owned disco in America and establishes the legacy of businesswoman, activist, and healer, Jewel Thais-Williams, who stood up against hate and discrimination for... 42 years. The story of Jewel and The Catch celebrates four decades of music, fashion, celebrity, and activism that helped change the course of our country by breaking down racial, social, and cultural barriers. One of the original safe spaces for both the LGBT and Black communities, The Catch also served as a refuge for many during the AIDS crisis. As her club grew to become known as the "unofficial Studio 54 of the West Coast, Jewel became a national role model for how to fight discrimination and serve the less fortunate." See more
