OSCC is proud to introduce the new Adult Literacy Coordinator- Ken three suns! Its wonderful to turn the reigns over to a very smart individual. I wish him well in his year with Old Sun. I, myself, have made an awesome decision to pursue my Master of Education degree through the University of Calgary. I was very inspired by my coworkers n my students. I was learning as well! Sometimes in life you have to let go of one thing to achieve another. I wish the Adult Literacy Stu...dents all the best in their future endeavors Please contact Ken Three Suns at OSCC for all your educational needs...403 734 3862 ext. 231. Thanks All See more

Classes begin on September 4th, 2018. Adult Literacy runs on a 3 day week. Tues, Wed, and Thursdays. We leave Monday and Friday open for personal business. Class begins at 9:00 am daily and ends at 3:00 pm. Lunch is from 11:30 to 12:30. This year I am adjusting my schedule to have the same lunch hour as students. It just works out better that way. You can ride the vans for $20. per month if transportation is an issue. SFI only covers it on a reimbursement basis. You pay it, ...and they pay you back. Vans are first come first serve so I try and get my literacy students on right away. Child care costs are covered if you are on SFI, Bare in mind that there are never any openings at the daycare so you may need an alternative solution. To this, we have no solution. I don't think they cover personal babysitters. I will find out. I also assist with taxes, letters, mentoring for your school research, appointments if needed. If we can solve it together, then I have done my job. Literacy Instructors are Sharon K. and Becky Many Heads. They offer extra tutoring if you want it. We provide you with a bag of goodies to make your transition into school a little easier. We try and provide snacks as we know the struggle is real. This year there will be lap tops available for your use. I am hoping you get to take them home at the end of the year, that is my goal. There are plenty more where they came from. So there it is in a nutshell. I encourage everyone to try it. You will be so glad you did. We have laid it all out for you. All you have to do is come and take it. I have a very illiterate friend who really wants to try. If this guy can, so can YOU. The decision is yours. Come see us!!
