Although the pandemic forced the museum to cancel much of its programming this past year, the Board felt it was important to mark the museum's 94th Round-Up in a nominal way in order to maintain the unbroken link to the museum's founding "Round-Up" in 1926. Therefore, a small gathering of the museum's Board Directors and a few Past Honourary Presidents (under 30 people) was held this evening at the museum's C.M. Glascock Building to mark the museum's 94th Round-Up. While the Board missed hosting the museum's membership and the broader community of Maple Creek at the Armoury this year, a smaller gathering was all that could be undertaken due to the pandemic. Thank you all for your continued support of the museum during these challenging times.

Masonry Repairs - Complete! Roofing Repairs - Complete! So, today Maple Creek Stucco & Stone is applying the finishing touches: Restoring the N.W. corner of the museum's C.M. Glascock Building back to its original white finish. It is fantastic when projects come together so well. Special thanks to the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation, Joe Daniel Contracting, Joshua Montgomery Roofing, and Maple Creek Stucco & Stone.

The latest signature in the museum's guest book. During the Premier's recent visit to the Old Cowtown, the Log Museum provided the Premier's party with a distinctive sense of place during a face-to-face meeting with the MLA, the Mayor, the Reeve and other local officials. The museum is always happy to support the community in putting its best foot forward.
: Bear!? What bear!? An unsuspecting horse wandered into the museum this evening, all the way from Wanuskewin Heritage Park.
As the old saying goes; "All good things must come to an end." Unfortunately, our summer students have been recalled to their continuing education. So, to contact the museum, just fire off a note in Messenger, or by e-mail: [email protected]
Didja know!? CHINKING: Refers to a broad range of materials used to seal the gaps between logs in a log building. The NWMP at Fort Walsh used a mixture of mud, grass & dried horse manure. The original chinking on the 1935 Log Museum was concrete. Today, the log museum complex is chinked with a modern compound known as "Permachink" which is more durable than mud, and more flexible than concrete.
The re-painting of the floor in the Showroom of the museum's C.M. Glascock Building has just been completed What do you think??
The museum's summer students have been busy treating the log-work on the new log museum, and chinking the log-work on the 1935 Log Museum. It's hard to believe that in only two more weeks they head back to school! So, stop-in and say "hi" before it's too late. Also, check out the museum's most recent newsletter at: http://www.visitcypresshills.ca//s-w-sask-oldtimers-museu/

The grounds of the 1935 Log Museum are looking beautiful. The galvanized washtubs out front are bursting with colour. Who can remember doing laundry in tubs like this? Secret History: These particular tubs were last used as kitty litter boxes
It's the weekend! Pop by the 1935 Log Museum to check out the locally produced pottery and beadwork in the museum's Gift Shop. Also, magnets, coffee mugs, pewter ornaments, and more! A great way to help the museum during these challenging times Free Admission (or leave a much appreciated donation).
