QUESTION. . Who were you before you tried to become the mum that the world is asking you to become? What kind of mum would you be if you didn’t think that you had to meet all the expectations? Would you give yourself more grace and compassion? Would you be more open to showing your child that you don’t have it all figured out and sometimes you need help too? . My heart is for all the mums trying to find their identities but looking in the wrong places. We cannot live purpos...eful lives when we're busy fighting food and our bodies, and 'shoulding' all over the place. . That's why I'm calling us all in to go back to leading values-driven lives. I'm sharing 7 to help you get started. . Mamas, it’s time to get off the struggle bus and figure out what you value. I hope this week’s episode will spark some conversations and help you start to hone in on what REALLY matters. . Always rooting for you, friend. Enjoy! LET'S TALK PERFECTIONISM .I totally lost my marbles last night... . My coach asked where else perfectionism was showing up in my life and I knew right away that it was with letting go of control in my motherhood . .... I struggled because I had a story I was telling myself. Perhaps you can relate. . Clean mums live in homes where these happen all the time - Spotless kitchen. - Clothes nicely put away. - Shoes neatly arranged...facing the same direction. - Toys + books organized neatly. . Do you have stories too? . While I've come so far from that mentality, I learned last night that we must continue to turn down the volume on thoughts that don't serve us. They're like weeds that sprout where and when you least expect. Pick em up and toss them in the trash. . I didn't do that last night. I totally went down the whirlwind of despair, as my daughter calls it. The kids and I had a good laugh about it at bed time, and we extended grace and compassion to ourselves. . If you're still reading this. I see you. Remember, ~we all have stories. ~they never go away completely. ~you can choose to turn down the volume. ~you can also choose to give them your time. ~when all is said and done, you're neither good nor bad. You're a human, who needs buckets of grace and compassion daily. . What stories/thoughts are you working through? Let's chat about it. . See more

The popular belief that diastasis recti (DR) is a problem that needs fixing leaves mothers feeling like their bodies are broken . I’m putting a stop to that messaging on the podcast today with my guest, Inemesit Graham. She’s busting some common myths about DR and giving you some strategies you need to support yourself. Enjoy! Here’s a sneak peek at what we discussed: -What diastasis is and isn’t. -What happens before and after you have a baby that no one talks about.... -Why you need to stop viewing DR as an injury that needs fixing. -Why language around DR and your body matters. -Some of the reasons why your belly could be distended and what to do about it.
