Introducing the Cherry Lane project's guest bathroom. I know how much you love before and after photos but this bathroom was created as part of an extension project so the before was...ummm...grass and dirt? . The floor tile from @centuramtlqc was love at first sight for my client and me. It served as the jumping off point for the bathroom design. We had a custom vanity built in a gorgeous sage green color and special ordered a pair of beautiful sconces from @luminaire_authentik to complement the space. . More photos to come next week!

My little Sienna will be turning 8 in just under 2 weeks - holy moly! . This girl is a fiery ball of energy, a real comedian and so unbelievably bright. She is also so independent and knows what she wants (like her mama). . My biggest wish (other than good health and overall happiness) is that seeing her mom run a successful business empowers her to pursue whatever opportunities lie ahead and to face challenges head on... Not to let fear take over....and of course, to always be cool and be kind (swipe to last photo) :)

Answer this: how many sets of dishes do you own? . I have 3 sets of dishes at home: 1. every day, plain white ceramic plates and bowls 2. a cute set of plastic plates from west elm that we use for outdoor eating (or for when we run out of the white ones ;))... 3. a fancy gold and white set for entertaining. Needless to say those haven't gotten used at all in the last year! . My client purchased these beautiful dishes from Anthropologie as an end of project treat. I just HAD to display them on the wood shelves - they were just too good not to! . Photo by @just.dan.thingz See more

Managed to sneak in a little photo of the progress on my Louise-Bizard living room project for your viewing pleasure. . My clients have had the misfortune of dealing with one delay after another due to the pandemic, but they've been dealing with it like champs. We're still waiting on a couple of larger pieces, and then I'll be able to complete the final styling and photoshoot.

Olive & Neon 07.09.2020

A few months back, my husband and I began the process of ripping out our outdated powder room. Fast forward to today, I'm happy to share with you a sneak peek of the nearly completed project. I have only a few finishing décor touches remaining, and then the big reveal will be shared with you! . If you have been following the progress in my stories, I'd love to know - did you enjoy following the process from beginning to end? Do you think I should I do this for all of my projects?

**Mid-Week Inspiration** Design by @banda.property by @taranwilkhu . Isn't this exquisite? Once again, the marriage of original architectural details with modern furnishings tells a unique design story.... . I am truly drawn to furniture pieces that have interesting shapes, curves and/or lines - to me, they are as much an art form as a photograph on a wall. See more

In recent months, I have been working from home makeup-free in my comfy yoga pants. While I do consider that a major perk of being my own boss, I've noticed that I feel different when I don't make an effort to take care of myself. . Have YOU experienced any of the following? *** you have so much on your agenda for the day that you forego breakfast or grab the quickest (and probably unhealthiest) thing you can find .... *** when faced with the decision to either A) get an extra hour of work in or B) do your hair and makeup, you choose A. . *** skip your morning workout - after all, there are only so many hours in the day before you have to head out and pick up the kids from school. . I confess: I am guilty of all of the above. And this past week, I decided that I was ready to take back control of ME. . A little more egg-white omelette, a little more red lipstick, and a lot more girl boss awesomeness. Who's with me??! See more

**mid-week inspiration** Design by @conradarchitects CGI by @thirdaesthetic . .... This formal living room design by @conradarchitects speaks in calming luxury. The neutral palette and drapery flanking the windows bring softness to the space, while the abstract painting and stone mantle serve as a striking focal point. Also note the unique curved detail at the top of the fireplace - it's truly special! . What's really blowing my mind is the level of realism we are seeing more and more with 3D renderings. @thirdaesthetic have mad skills - wow. . Now, tell me: If I had not told you this was a rendering, would you have noticed it? See more

From the moment I met with my client and learned about her motivations for undertaking a kitchen renovation project, I knew I just had to be a part of it. A single mom of an adorable little girl, my client was living in her late mother's home (she had previously moved in to care for her in her final days). She got in touch with me after we'd met at a networking event and shared that she was ready for a reboot - she wanted to make the home her own. . And so I made it my miss...ion to help her accomplish just that. Not only do I feel blessed to have had a hand in this meaningful transformation over the last year, but I am also lucky to have met such a beautiful person who I can now call my friend. . We're nearing the end of the project and she sent me the nicest message (cue the tears): . "I just wanted to tell you that I'm standing in my kitchen, alone, and I'm overcome with emotion. It's me. I see me all over. The bright light, the color, the class, the elegance the character. There are so many different things and yet, all together they make a beautiful whole. I can remember a time after my mother passed when all I could do was sit in the basement, in the dark and turn off. When I would leave the house in the morning I would put on a brave face so that no one could see the hurt and sadness inside. But now, in the beautiful home you helped me create, I feel turned inside out and want to show myself off. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this transition back to me. Your gift is not just creating beautiful spaces, your gift is truly seeing your clients and bringing their unique beauty to light." See more

Happy Monday, y'all! . Here's yet another sneak peek post, this time of the Du Boise project I recently completed. . Can't wait to shoot this project next month and share it with you!!

**Project Sneak Peek** . For the Grosvenor project I recently completed, we picked a gorgeous pair of mauve velvet chairs from @beigestyle for the custom desk unit. If you're going to spend a lot of time at your desk, you've gotta choose something that's ultra comfortable (and beautiful too) #amiright?? . In fact, I love these so much that I just might order a pair for my future office as well :)

**Mid-Week Inspiration** Restaurant Henri, Brasserie Francaise, Montreal Design by @zebulonperron . Is it just me, or does food taste even better when dining in a beautiful restaurant?? ... . Restaurant Henri, brainchild of commercial interior design firm Atelier Zebulon Perron, is an absolute stunner. . Set in Montreal landmark's Birks building, many elements of its historical heritage were preserved, creating a gorgeous backdrop for the chevron floors, velvet banquette seating, and black/brass/marble finishes. . Note to self: this one is definitely going on my 'top restaurants to try' list. . Have you tried it? See more

**A or B - Which would you choose?** . If someone were to ask my husband what I do for a living, he'd probably answer that I shop online all day for pillows. While that is not at all an accurate portrayal of how I spend my time, I do love me some pretty pillows. :) . I love mixing solids and patterns to create a fun pillow combination. Which combo do you prefer?

10 years ago today, I married the love of my life. . We've been through so much together in the last 10 years: ** we've had 3 homes (two of which we renovated ourselves) ** made two beautiful children... **traveled each year together ** changed jobs (careers, in my case) . The years have been filled with highs and lows, incredible memories and difficult situations. But we continue to work through everything in the best way that we can, communicating every step of the way and working as a team. . I couldn't imagine my life without you. When we engage in what we are naturally suited to do, our work takes on the quality of play and it is play that stimulates creativity. Linda Naiman . A dear client of mine told me yesterday (in the nicest of ways possible) that I am a workaholic. . While there is definitely truth to that, the fact of the matter is that it doesn't ever feel like work. ... . I love what I do so much and I have fun doing it, so I kinda never wanna stop :). . Curbless showers come with their own set of perks, aside from the coolness factor: . ** they eliminate the need to climb over a threshold ** they allow you to carry your floor tile all the way through to the shower area, creating a seamless look. Not to mention that the tiles can be large format! ** the shower floor can be made to slope towards an ultra sleek linear drain (the drain used in this photo virtually disappears by insetting the floor tile in the same pattern a...s the rest of the floor) . Although it is easier to install curbless showers in new constructions, there are ways to retrofit this setup in existing homes. . Design: @oliveandneon Photo credit: @bodoumphotographie See more

I need your help in choosing a light fixture for my upstairs hallway! . . It's funny, I make selections for client projects without hesitation but when it comes to my home, I suffer from decision paralysis and serious FOMO. .... . The light fixture in our upstairs hallway has been in need of replacement since we moved in two years ago. After months of searching (and changing my mind 100 times), I've settled on these two style options, both from Luminaire Authentik in Montreal. . **Mid-Week Inspiration** Design by @emanuelle_simon . What feelings does this space evoke for you? .... . For this week's inspiration, I chose this living room designed by Emmanuelle Simon Architecture in Paris. The plush curves, sculptural objects, natural palette and textures evoke a minimalist yet warm environment. The coffee table, also designed by Emmanuelle Simon, is made with lava stone and applies a Japanese pottery technique called Raku - it is the star of the show for me! . . It's no wonder that Emmanuelle Simon has been selected as one of the top 100 interior designers for 2020 in the Architectural Digest Magazine. See more

Feeling excited and inspired. . I have some ideas on what I'd like to do in my powder room as an art piece. Looking forward to sharing my creative process with you via Insta Stories. I hope you get a chance to check it out!

I'm baaack! . Our staycation was absolutely fantastic and I feel completely re-energized. In our first week, we spent some time at my in-laws who have a waterfront property on the Quebec side of Lake Champlain. I soaked in their hot tub for about 1-2hrs each day, with a stunning view of the lake and the stars above (SIDEBAR - we are totally buying a hot tub next summer for our house!! The way we felt after each soak convinced us that it is a must have for decompressing aft...er a busy day) . For the second week, Adam and I focused on a lot of our home projects that had been lagging for a long time. For some, this might not feel like vacation, but it's something that I really enjoy doing. The sense of accomplishment (and the end result) makes me feel so happy!! . Anyhoo, I am back and ready to serve you in all of your design needs. If you have a renovation project that you would like to begin in the fall or early next year, please get in touch via DM or fill out the contact form on my website (link in bio). See more

Doing my happy dance because starting tomorrow, I will be on vacation for 2 full weeks!!! Although we will just be staying home and enjoying the beautiful summer weather in Montreal, I am really (like, REAAAALLLY) looking forward to a much needed break and a little me-time to re-energize. . I may share bits of my vacation here and there via my stories (or I may not - I'm just going to do what feels right in the moment and not let myself feel any pressure whatsoever!), and I will be back in full effect on July 27. Peace out!

If you have children, maybe you can relate to my situation. You know that moment when you (or whoever cleans your home) just finished cleaning the bathroom, and everything looks perfect and neat for a whole 3 minutes before it becomes a disaster of toothpaste everywhere, splashes on the mirror (AND faucet, AND counter), and towels on the floor? I look around at my clean and NEAT bathroom, I take a deep breath and I smile. Then I let it all go and keep my eyes closed (until the next time it gets cleaned).

**Mid-Week Inspiration** Design by @emdesigninc --IN JUST THREE WORDS, DESCRIBE THIS OFFICE! -- . . I've decided to start a new series every week dedicated to design inspiration. Inspiration can come from various sources - other interior designers' work, architecture, nature, fashion, every day objects, etc. ... . My first pick is an easy one, as I have long admired @emdesigninc's stunning work. This office is exquisite in every way. An office that doesn't feel like an office just screams #officegoals to me. It's Moodboard Tuesday, lovelies! Today, I'm sharing the moodboard for a simple but functional laundry room that will be built for the #oan_daviesproject. . Seeing this photo of my previous kitchen makes me want to redo my current one. . We've been so busy renovating the rest of the house and decided to leave the kitchen for last, but every day I curse at the cabinet doors that don't close, the lack of counter space and storage, and poor workflow setup. . ====Throwback Thursday==== . This photo from my childhood tells a very special story. . My mom's recount of the story goes like this: "we were on vacation in Israel and your grandfather took you and your brother to the park. You both decided you wanted to climb up the slide. Your brother tried a couple of times unsuccessfully, then gave up and moved onto something else (**sorry bro - love you!**). You, on the other hand, kept trying and trying and trying tirelessly unt...il you made it to the top." . . I'd like to think that I tackle each day as a female entrepreneur in this very way - knowing my goals, and never giving up until I attain them. Another moodboard for your viewing pleasure. . The Davies project, which consists of a kitchen and basement design, started up just before covid-19 hit Montreal. During our initial meeting, my client asked for the white kitchen of her dreams. And over the last few months, I've been working hard at delivering just that! . With white cabinets and a white artisanal tile backsplash, we chose a bold countertop to serve as the focal point. A pair of counter stools in a navy ...blue upholstered performance fabric ties in perfectly with the veining in the quartz countertop. . On the construction side, we plan to knock down the wall to the dining room, create a large window over the sink, and move their existing patio door over to the dining room to get as much "kitchen" out of the space that we can. . The outcome will be so spectacular, I am so excited for this project to come to life!! Construction begins in early August, so stick around for updates as the project progresses! See more

"""Behind a great mom is a great dad"", my dad once said. ON MOTHER'S DAY. --- His quick wit and sense of humor are just some of the many qualities that I admire in my dad. . DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL. Every morning as a child, my dad would prop me up on the bathroom vanity and I would sit there watching him shave. He'd place dots of shaving cream all over my face and make me giggle. It was our little morning ritual, our special bonding time. .... THOUGHTFUL AND PRESENT. My dad traveled for work quite often when we were young. But upon every return, he'd open his suitcase on the foyer floor and unveil all of the gifts he got for us during his trip. My dad worked hard and a lot of hours, but when he was home, he was always present: always helping my mom around the house, playing with us, helping us with our schoolwork. . A QUIET LEADER. I had many occasions to see my dad in action at work. I would often go visit him at the office, spend a few hours designing new outfits for my cabbage patch dolls (my dad worked in fashion) or cutting fabric swatches. But I was always watching, always listening, and I could see how effective he was as a leader. He was well respected by everyone, he worked hard, and he was efficient - all in his cool-headed quiet kind of way. I always hoped that I would one day become a leader just like him. . A TRUE PARTNER. Devoted to my mom. A true and equal partner in all aspects of day to day life. He sets the (high) bar on how relationships should work. . I could honestly go on and on, but I need to save some anecdotes for the many years to come :) . Papa, je t'aime. Happy Father's Day. @ Beaconsfield, Quebec See more
