One of the most common misconceptions about dentures: Young people (under the age of 65) don’t need dentures whereas ALL seniors (over the age of 65) need them! Neither one of these assumptions is true... Dentures are recommended if and when a patient’s natural teeth have sustained injury or decay to the extent that they: -Negatively affect quality of life -Can no longer function effectively without causing pain -Hinder a person’s ability to stick to a nutritious and healthy diet This can happen to both young and older patients. It has less to do with age and more to do with the condition of a person’s natural teeth.
