Even the safest mine can have an underground emergency. ON2 designs and builds Mine Refuge Chambers that provide a ‘Safe Haven’ for everyone that is unable to evacuate the mine and must seek refuge while they wait for rescue. TommyKnockers are custom built for each mine to provide anywhere from 8 to 20 people with up to 96 hours of refuge. Each chamber can be fitted with a variety of safety options that can include; escape hatch, fixed gas detection, positive pressure control centre, RF1 breathable air system, variable speed high effeciency heat pump, and compressed mine or cylinder air purge systems. During a state of emergency, the safety of refuge is life saving!

Upon entering the airlock of an ON2 Mine Refuge Chamber, occupants seeking refuge will now be able to see the air safety levels at a glance. Fixed gas detectors with a digital display alarm can now be installed in the TommyKnocker chambers to alert anyone that is entering the chamber. Once the occupants close the airlock entry door, they are able to purge toxic gasses with compressed air. Alarm Safety removes the guess work involved with air quality.

ON2 builds a range of Veterinary Oxygen Concentrator systems because we realize that not all veterinary practices are the same. Our V-Series line provides between 10-80 LPM of ON-site gas ON-demand. From a small clinic with one operating theatre to a large hospital with oxygen cages, ICU units, hyperbaric chambers and multiple operating theatres our V-Series oxygen concentrators are customized to meet any demand! The entire line can also be fitted with leading edge technology that allows any smart phone to access and control the system off site.

We just completed the second half of phase one for the medical gas pipeline system upgrade in Churchill, Manitoba. ON2 designed and built a Duplex Medical Vacuum control panel that will turn the Med Vac pumps on and off, in a lead/lag configuration. The HMI will display realtime equipment status and allow remote interrogation of the system. Previously if the Med Vac system were to fail, many of the components were obsolete and the hospital was in jeopardy of having to evacuate until the system could be replaced. This upgrade will allow for the complete system to be easily serviced and efficiently maintained for another 25+ years.

We are up in Churchill, Manitoba this week, installing two new compressors, four analyzers, and a medvac control panel. We have been servicing this system in Churchill for over 30 years and its time for an upgrade. The new components of their onsite medical gas generation system will restart the clock and add another 100,000 hours of operation. This step of a three phase upgrade, is part of a comprehensive plan to revitalize the medical gas pipeline system for this hospital.
