How to fight climate change from your couch and be money ahead! Sheltering in place and looking for something useful to do? Want to help yourself and the planet? The answer is easy: Hop on your laptop, order LEDs, then get off your couch and swap out your old incandescent, halogen and CFL lights. It may not be that exciting but it's important. Most people don’t know that Widespread use of LED lighting has the greatest potential impact on energy savings in the United St...ates. Even though LED lights are now more affordable and can have a big impact on global warming, they make-up less than 1/3 of installed residential lighting in the U.S. This is because of the common misconception that you should wait until your existing bulbs burn out before replacing them with LEDs. But that makes no sense for you or the environment. At current prices, it only takes a matter of months for a typical LED light to pay for itself and it can last for decades. While stuck at home, we are we are using even more residential lighting so the need for each of us to make this small change is more important than ever. So listen to Nick Holonyak, the inventor of the LED light, and #switchtoLEDtoday https://oneatmosphere.org/switch-to-led-today See more

The Dakota Access Pipeline has been halted by court order for failing to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).... Unfortunately, the Adminstration is moving to weaken NEPA, opening the door to large scale fossil fuel projects to proceed with limited environmental review. Now is the time to turn frustration into action. Check the link in our bio to find out what organizations like @earthjustice and the @nrdc_org are doing about it and how you can contribute. [Update: An appeals court decision has now allowed the pipeline to remain running but the battle continues in the court below for now.] #dakotaaccesspipeline #nepa #climatechange https://www.reuters.com//court-orders-dakota-pipeline-shut https://earthjustice.org//trump-administration-launches-at https://www.nrdc.org/get-involved https://earthjustice.org/action
