One Step To Freedom

Hey everyone! March 8th is International womens day! do something to celebrate the amazing and wonderful women from our country and other countries around the world!!

"So why dont they?" is a movie I made about what me,Lilly and Maddie found when we picked up garbage for the blue dream project. This was just behind a Tim Hortons. Share and spread the word about picking up garbage and putting it in garbage cans. And also about putting garbage cans where they will be actually used.

Today we picked up Garbage for the Blue Dream Project. We found the below sign next to all the garbage. Lilly, Maddie and I picked up the most garbage and won $100 for One Step To Freedom.

Also some exciting new news! we are working on a website!:D It wont be published for a while since we just started but for now I may make a Facebook account until our website is published.... (When I mean Facebook account I mean one with a password and all that not just a page like this)

Hello!! Last Weekend we raised 325$ for the Harbour House! Heres some pictures!

One Step To Freedom donated $60 to Second Story Womens Centre over the weekend after going door to door for bottles. Missing from this photo is Samadi.

Our visit to S.H.A.I.D Animal Shelter was a success!! it was lots of fun and we got to see tons of dogs and cats. Here are a few pictures of all of us in the car (except me because I was taking the picture) and Rose with a dog. Today we will be giving a donation to Second Story Womens Center and we will be doing some work with wood.

Next week we will be back on track with our fundraising! we are hoping to volunteer at SHAID Animal Shelter and will give them donation too!! All of us are very, very excited.

as for our next plan i am still thinking about.... but as soon as school starts and we can see the whole group again Im shore we can figure something out. But it being winter we might not be doing our usual rounds with the wagon but instead a couple of new things. We are thinking about busking at the markets and other busy places and volunteering at S.H.A.I.D animal shelter the local shelter during the weekends. so as soon as we are back on track i will tell you!

its official! the bags are packed and are now at the drop off and will be reaching a Syrian refugee family soon!

we have packed the bags! we are going to send them to the people who will take them to the Syrian refugees as soon as possible.

we sorted out the things for the Syrian refugees! we have 4 bags three our for teens ones for a kid two are for boys and two are for girls. We have tooth brushes shampoo blankets towels water all sorts of stuff! we plan to pack them soon but since there have been some minor issues its been hard to plan a meet but hope to be back on track soon!

just busked at the market! made 138$ beating are last high score of 112$!

One Step To Freedom meets almost every Saturday or another time in the week. Our members include Lilly (11 our volunteer) Maddie(11) Geneva (10) Tessa (12) Rose (13) and Samadi (10). Help us grow! We love to hear from anyone. We raise money for charities so if you have one in mind that you think we can raise money for please let us know. Our motto: Change and inspire one step at a time!
