COFFEE TABLE how to Most people struggle with how to decorate a coffee table. Here's the key: 1. Layer high and low objects - here we stacked a small vase on some books to bring up the height ... 2. Compliment the shapes: rounded chains with squared books, throw in an odd shape too 3. Pick a colour theme: try white/black, wood/metal, colour saturation with some neutral 4. Tray - not used here but a tray will provide a great anchor for groups of smaller objects Either way, play around with it and remember it's your space so if it makes you happy, that's all that counts. This recent movement to support women inspires me more so to support raising our children to be great women and people. Without a manual I am trying each day to give these girls the best guidance to become someone they themselves are proud of. Standing in this part of the cottage, it was begging for a way to pull the focus to that stunning view. By adding the seating area in front of the window we: created arguably the best spot in the cottage added an additional seating accommodation to fit more guests pulled the conversation and view towards the water (is that the same win again?) ... Note that we chose to use chase lounges facing each other instead of a sofa. This allows a person to sit and face both the room and the water view, instead of having their back to the window. This kitchen is one of my favorite transformations. By eliminating the useless second door (Sorry Carrie Bradshaw) we were able to create a more functional kitchen space. To keep it open and airy, we kept the upper cabinets on one wall and complimented the gorgeously busy back splash with some open shelving. Keeping the microwave in the lower cabinets also relives the clutter above counter. A nice alternative to black faucets check out this Antique Steel finish. ...TIP - OUTLETS: plan out your outlets along the counter based on how you see using the kitchen and where your small appliances will go. Do you have want a coffee station? Toasting area? And your electrician will look after the technical safety parts . Who needs a closet when you can do this?! This bedroom was tiny so to create a larger and more open feeling we removed the closet and replaced it with a pipe for hanging and simple dressers. Technically there is now more storage this way because the closet only had 1 rod! As seen on @hgtvcanada . . .
