Hi everyone, my name is Desiré, I’m the other half of @onetwentyonecollective. I know, I know it’s been a long time coming for me to jump on here and say hello. I’ve been very busy looking through a lens filming some awesome content with our new #onetwentyone members. At my core I’m a creator & and an artist. I best translate my art through documentary filmmaking and photography. I grew up in Montreal and then for a time in West Africa, and as I grew up I was heavily influenc...ed by documentary films and photography about the areas I lived. I was fascinated by history and people. Why we did certain things, traditions, behaviour, style and beyond. My parents were very conservative and at the same time liberal ahead of the times. They are my hero’s, in a mixed race marriage at that time and then to be engaged in a humanitarian work, the good stuff of our generation now. You would have loved them. Working with Melanie, in this collective is the realization of years of passion projects and humble beginnings. There is something so unique and empowering to work with someone with a shared vision but a distinctly different passion in terms of creation and how they might see a thing. I am truly excited to share with you my experience and my passion for conveying the stories that matter to you and to the community you serve.
