Foreign nationals in Canada whose temporary residency status is expiring soon may be able to extend their stay in Canada.

Canada is extending the requirement for travellers to provide a negative COVID-19 test to land border crossers as early as Feb. 15.

On January 8th, 2021, a new policy took effect in Canada that will allow prior international students who have an expired or expiring Post-Graduate Work Permit to apply for a new open work permit which will be valid for 18 months. International students partake in such a vital part of Canada’s economy, to which they contribute over $21 billion per year.
