Time to test the hard drive in your PC and/or laptop I'm always reminding people to test the hard drives in their PC and laptops because if that fails, you will lose all your files plus any setup done to your Windows installation, etc. It's a major hassle to have a failed drive replaced because you will need to repload your Windows again, plus setup your printers and restore any data backups (assuming you have those). Better to get the drive replaced when it first starts to f...ail than wait until it's too late. It's a good idea to test these drives at least twice per year, but better to do it with the change of seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter). There is a free program you can use to test your hard drive for defects called HD Tune and it's available for download from either their website (hdtune.com) or under the Tips section of our website (pc-repairs.ca). You need to run an Error Scan (not the Benchmark test that opens by default) and if it finds even one red dot, we'd recommend replacing the drive ASAP. I've attached a few photos of actual client computers that have had seriously failing drives (or completely crashed ones) in just the last 2 months. I've also seen hard drives that were in perfect health a few months ago suddenly develop a pile of bad or weak sectors. This is why I was recommending you test your drive 4 times per year rather than just once or even twice per year. You should at least do this test twice per year, so now is a good time to run your HD Tune Error Scan. These printers are a great way to save on ink costs and because they are wireless, you can put them just about anywhere. Perfect for the kids to use to print drafts of their school reports and other stuff, costs pennies per page.

Now this is a neat little trick I wouldn't normally have thought of doing. Usually electronics and water are a no-no, but in this case it actually works. The yellow ink on my own Canon MG5420 printer started acting up, which ended up being due to a clogged print head. I tried the built-in printer cleaning utilities plus swabbing the print head with a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol, but didn't help. I finally tried this idea and after printing a bunch of pages, the yellow is back to normal again. Sometimes the strangest ideas turn out to be the best ideas.

This is the latest thing that's been going around on Facebook Messenger. If you get a video that says "I think I see you in this video, please look at it", don't open it. The link takes you to a phishing website where they try to get your Facebook password. Someone got nailed today and I've personally been seeing these video showing up in my Messenger for weeks now....

This is a neat idea....
