Lazslo‘s life (Gyözö vHS) in Alaska

WOW! I’ve heard of these pheasant festivals but never got to experience the fun myself - what an experience!! I got to work my dogs (gave my gunning spot to a y...oung fellow who was very excited to have an opportunity shoot). Some excellent dog work and some areas to work on for sure but that’s what it’s all about - get out and get your bird dogs exposed! The funny moment of the day was Szinva pointing a pheasant that had hidden inside of a small culvert and sure wasn’t coming out to meet 4 gunners and 3 dogs! Thank you to such awesome gunners, and great folks - the comradeship of a shared hunt with bird dogs is truly a blessing. A final bit of good news for another pup of Avas as the test season comes to a close, György von Haus Schladern completed and passed the Versatile Hunting Dog Federation of Canada HAE test (Hunting Aptitude Evaluation). It was great to learn about this testing system and to have a pup participate successfully! Thank you Lexi and Carter for testing Norman - just like his brother Lazslo in Alaska, these two have trained Norman's foundation obedience online all winter with me ...and the results are sure showing off! You two trusted the process and are well on your way to a solid working gun dog and can now see the value of a solid relationship build from a young age. We're very proud of you and look forward to our hunt together shortly in Saskatchewan. Norman has been scouting places for us already - Hungarian partridge and sharptails, we can't wait to have a father/son hunt together! Happy Hunting

Another pup from Avas made us proud again this weekend! Mike and his pup Gyenged vHS tested NAVHDA Natural Ability and received a Prize 2 with a score of 108! Congratulations to a fine hunting team in the making and thank you for testing her! Enjoy the 2020 hunting season, we look forward to continuing to watch her develop and her bright future ahead!

Proud moment for us at OnPOINT - Avas sired a litter under von Haus Schladern last year and I made it a priority that some of those pups came to North America, specifically to hunting NAVHDA homes. His first pup to be tested received a Prize 1 112 max score in the NAVHDA Natural Ability test! Bryan and Laszlo have been working all winter on their foundation obedience with me online and we couldn’t be happier with the results of this new handling team They’ve already hit the... mountains and water for ptarmigan and ducks! Very excited to see this promising pup develop and continue his NAVHDA and hunting training. Avas’ daughter who will live, hunt and test NAVHDA in Idaho, USA

Happy 1st birthday to our spicy crazy girl, Élces (Mestervadász Cedrus). She is a lot of dog, with much promise becoming a hard charging bird dog and adding fine working abilities to the gene pool here in North America. Looking forward to training and watching her develop this year!

Avas (Capa vHS) is officially Hungarian Grand Champion with the added accomplishment of a Working Certificate as well.
