Dear friends in this helping profession, WHERE ARE YOU AT? Sometimes, intriguing questions can be a starting point for meaningful conversations.... I would like to take this opportunity, to extend an invitation to you all group members (Registrered Psychotherapists of Ontario/RPO); who can make it next Sat, May 23rd, 2020 for our first virtual symposium titled #TherapistsConnect In the meantime, I would like to hearing from all of you, what time might be ideal between noon and 7pm. For some of you I have checked and consulted, Saturday sounded to work best for now, given the fact that some of us are still working from home M-F. This will be a 1.5 or 90 mins and will start on Canadian time and try to wrapping up on time. Agenda: a) Check ins (where are you at?) b) RPO platform expectations/next steps c) Volunteer opportunities (platform) d) Private practice strategies under COVID-19 - losses and lessons (now/post covid). e) AOB and Q&A. Stay safe! Sincerely, Noah Mugenyi

Dear comrades, Hopefully, you’re keeping safe with your loved ones. I just realized that, over the past few months, our platform has been growing and this is good news as far as supporting each other and sharing tools; to enhance our profession and closing those scientific gaps in this field collectively.... I would like to hear your insight on a few questions as a quick screening avenue, for our members joining in. So far what I have been doing is responding to each joining member with acknowledging their professional body/college they belong, for our pun safety. So far, all registered, qualifying members from the regulated and recognized institutions/colleges have joined our group. Also, adding another or two admin supportive volunteers would render me a hand and perspectives in the betterment of our platform and reaching out to other members in our communities. Dialogue better, network more and staying updated on news in our field and from each one of you. Stay safe and WE are in this together. Back home we call it Ubuntu!

Even though we may be experiencing various dark and heavy clouds hovering over our souls, communities, our cities and globally; let us be anchored together. In response to supporting our brothers and sisters in Nova Scotia, I was inclined to sharing and extending with you all, our prayers and thoughts, at this crucial and difficult time. When grief and loss strike, shock and all the other emotions follow indeed!... This is exactly, what happens to me and most folks I get a chance to connecting; every time a unthinkable act of terror, normally those involving domestic violence and guns, shutter our human and communal spirits. Being a witness to people’s lives cut short leaves all scared and scarred, families tormented to pieces, communities angered yet searching and above all; questions remain... However, it’s at moments like these, be it confronting covid-19, senseless shootings, wars, hunger, etc.,- together as a people; we bounce back. Throughout history like our ancestors did walk similar paths that we’re now experiencing and will continue doing so, and generations to come. Stay home strong Nova Scotia - #CanadaStrong #Anchored2gether #Mentalhealth1 #Xsurrender2covid19 #StayHomeSafe4NOW
