Many people are surprised to learn what counts as a single alcoholic drink. One Standard Drink equals: 341 mL (12 oz) of 5% BEER ... 142 mL (5 oz) of 12% WINE 43 mL (1.5 oz) of 40% LIQUOR Now, what is the daily limit? Women: 2 drinks per day, up to 10 drinks a week Men: 3 drinks per day, up to 15 drinks a week How much are you drinking? Over drinking? Is it time to rethink your drinking? This post is not to encourage abstinence but to help moderate drinking. Always remember to drink safe and drink slowly. And yes, there could be a special occasion and we all have reasons to celebrate from time to time. But you can reduce your risk of harm including injuries from falls, motor vehicle crashes, or abusive or violent behaviour by limiting alcoholic drinks on these occasions.
