Students have been largely excluded from #COVID19 benefits (CERB, etc.) and programs announced by the Trudeau government. Aside from a 6-month deferral on student loan payments/interest, most students are not eligible for financial assistance from the government during this time. Students’ internships and coops are being cancelled, and graduating students are entering the (possibly) greatest recession since The Great Depression (of 1929). Please sign this petition if you agree that students need to be included in these programs. https://www.change.org/p/government-of-canada-dontforgetstu Hope you're comfy at home like this family of puppies! . We hope you all remain safe and healthy during this time.

CW// anti-black violence, anti-indigenous violence, police brutality . . . .... . On May 27, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, an Afro-Indigenous woman fell from her apartment balcony to her death. Her family states that she was pushed off the balcony by a Toronto Police officer. This is not an isolated case. Black, brown, and Indigenous people face violence at the hands of police all over world, including in so-called "Canada". In the wake of brutal murders of black people at the hands of police, there have been protests against all over Turtle Island. One will take place in Toronto on May 30th at 2pm. Please show up if possible! Only show up if you are not showing any symptoms of COVID-19 and will be able to self isolate for 14 days after. Please come with PPE if you have it. #justiceforRegis #justiceforGeorgeFloyd #BLM #Notanotherblacklife

We know that students come from diverse backgrounds and situations, and as a result, are impacted by social distancing/ #COVID19 in very different ways. You may be a student who's about to graduate high school and planned to enter post-secondary, but is now unsure if they can afford post secondary with no summer job or limited hours and with limited access to emergency benefits. Or, a single parent in part-time post-secondary who does not qualify CERB or CSEB. Whatever your situation we know that the new #CESB may not be enough for many of us struggling through hard times. However, we do know that we will get through this by helping and advocating for each other <3 Let us know in the comments or message us how #COVID19 is impacting you.
