Snowblower repairs. As the snow keeps piling keep your snowblower in the best possible shape to keep the plow roll at bay. A couple of tips... When snow blowing to longer your lever for the auger (to blow the snow) is down the better. When the auger belt is engaged and disengaged is when the most wear on the belt happens. A lot of the newer blowers have a lock down feature when the drive is engaged the auger lever is locked down. This is a good thing. When don’t that lovely... slop snow at the end of the driveway it’s a good practice to run some clean snow through the blower to help clean the salt and slush out. This will help with the rust especially if you store it in a heated garage. Clean as much snow out from the bucket, augers, and auger impeller (turn the machine off!!) before putting it away. If this snow and water settles and freezes it will cause wear extra wear on the belt and mechanics of the machine the next time you go to use it. I did the main auger bearing on my toro the weekend and the rust was the hardest part of the job. Happy snow blowing!!
