Encore litter going home home time for Mr. Ringo ! lost my composure here... this family was so happy to be on the list even if last, puppy number 10 surprised us after a very very long delivery, yay there was a puppy for them ! then a puppy passed away and they were without a puppy. To then things getting shuffled around to where they even had some choice. I think it worked out perfectly because if I could have chosen for them I would have chosen this puppy for them. I can’t believe this is the last litter for Bella and How things work out sometimes. *** masks were only off to say cheese for the photo***

Puppies made it to the vet the wind was blowing it was a cold walk to the car it was so windy and I had to warm up the car for quite a while and I left it running so that they would be happy in the car. They were very quiet there and back and they all just went back inside their crates and while the vet and I talked breeding as she is also a breeder. Someone got a little car sick on the way home but other then that all Recieved a clean Bill of health !

Salix aka Green collar met and went home with his Momma! Long trip through the BC mountains ahead of him and had to be grabbed early so that family Daughter and Granddaughter could come and help cuddle him. !!! Bella got to pose for a picture before also leaving herself back to the farm with Grandpaw she was sooooooo happy to get there she was born free to be free ! Grandpaw had fresh baked dog cookies!!! For Aunty Katie and Bella. Bella doesn’t have to watch the remaining puppies leave which turned out to be hard for her as Apricots family came and meet her after Salix left and Bella was not happy super happy with them at times during their visit. The puppies don’t seem to notice Bella is gone and have just taken to following Shadow around. Now to take the remaining puppies to the vet ! Thanks cold snap super excited about this lol

Bathing and grooming is down stairs! And the puppies were carried up to the top landing and then got to practice going up two stairs... sibling encouragement drama lol yet anytime the gate is not 100 % fixed for going up stairs to my room they zip up there like they have been doing stairs their whole life lol. Bella even had to make sure no one was left down stairs

4 boys and 3 girls, Cali is doing so well she stayed with them until 6:30 am so made her go out for a potty break! Then she ate VERY well and drank VERY well. She has no post partum tummy troubles love raw feeding for this ! Amazing how much she trusts me with her puppies as Bella was like DONT touch for a few days. So precious to get a tuxedo girl like Cali. Ive had some oodles families thinking up litter Themes perhaps around the idea of 7 since Cali was as from lucky charms litter number 7 and then her first litter is 7. What a breeze of a delivery very typical with a temp drop and normal behaviours of a normal dog in labour and big thanks to Sharon Calis momma and guardian home my first guardianship dam delivery! A success !

Each puppy got wrapped up like a burrito and had one on one time with me so this bath took a while! I love burrito puppy snuggles! Soon it will be after bath runsies where they will just want to go crazy after a bath like little wind up toys and this is super fun too! They ALL did really well about getting a bath. Ive totally been procrastinating about shaved f...aces and feet sometimes they are just so cute ! But I know its really good experience for them! Almost 6 weeks old!!!! They are doing really well with going outside but still when playing they will turn and just pee so they can hopefully return to the game. In the morning everyone heads outside, after eating, and after naps, before naps and bedtime. Thank you Sandi-Lynn Chen Top Hat Parti Poodles for doing moons ultrasound today it was quick brief one as I normally dont ultrasound second litters but my dad happened to be in the city! And tried his best to get a video without glare but it didnt quite happen it gave Sandi a chance to use her new machine we count 4-5 just on the one side. Puppies look like the little black blobs surrounded in white As dogs have two uterine horns as opposed to a humans one single uterus so more then 6 looks promising my guess would be 8 but we will see ! Just hanging out killing time before bedtime puppies have eaten, pottied outside, pottied inside, and play play played they went a little crazy tonight so perhaps I spoke too soon. Something happened at 2:20 that made Cali decide she needed to intervene and do some pawrenting sometimes these moments are hard to spot even if at all but its really cool when they do! And to catch it on camera !!!! Even better. Bella was a pawrenting type too who would play with her babies. I didnt see it a whole lot with Chloe or Moon although moon was a busy bee with the cleaning like no other and Cali has started to wane on the cleaning but will randomly decide Im not fast enough or maybe shes just trying to help but prefers team work lol but she will still help but she no longer does it all.

Back in puppy jail so early in the morning ? So the puppies sleep from 11:30-6:30 which is to say they just dont bother calling out to me during those hours. They are also trying to hold pooping and will beg to get out of the pen so they can run around and poop outside of the pen. So Im re directing this keeping the nest clean outside. Well Cali was just like isnt this fun! Playtime so she grabs her toy and whipping it around as they are all toddling onto the deck a little... unsure and Cali is running and Im like Cali they arent quite at that level yet a) I pick up the poop but its get more volumous when shes caring for puppies well sure enough post pregnant Cali is not quite as agile as pre pregnant Cali and she throws the toy runs hops! Trying to get that perfect ten score trips slides right through first base on her face! Which happened to be a big pile of her own poop sorry TMI ! So now the puppies are pooping and Cali is just mortified and wants to get cleaned up. I have to clean up the deck, feed the puppies and then potty the puppies and clean it up one more time before I can then bath poor Cali. So I had to put the puppies back in puppy jail sooner then they are used too and they were like but why ? They are so cute! Breeding is fun ! See more

They still sleep a lot and when they do play they are usually just biting /playing on me. Things should get much more exciting soon as they will interact more with their things. When they do feel like interacting I have them walk on grates, plastic bags, boxes, we even went on the deck and they thought was cold but yesterday it was HOT so Im sure it was a shock to them the temperature changes. Still cute as ever. Hardening up their kibbl and starting practice with grooming.

Goodbye miss Mercy ! Mercy is moving with her momma to Vancouver island to be near her Aunty ! Teared up just putting it together! Mercy came for a grooming in Red Deer and has been to the vet here and training classes here so Ive been able to see her a few times. Her mom is very fluent in E-mail but not in pictures. I can tell I will need to do a Vancouver island oodles reunion as I think theres going to be three there now! Safe travels ! Miss you !

Haha to those of you thinking Im pregnant lol NOT me lol haha my future is only filled with puppies ! But so fun!!!! My first litter was Chloe and I took her to this same clinic, in this same room, and cried holding chloes paw as she lay on the foam cradle. I seen the little puppies swimming around. Here I am 10 litters later, back at the same clinic with the super awesome ultrasound padded and cradle for the expecting mommas to lay in for their ultrasound expecting litters 11 and 12! Tahiti is pregnant and expecting 5-8 puppies.

Surprise ! Its not moons ultrasound so then who is pregnant !!!!!

Calis Mom arrives with her two adults daughters a son in law and each of their new babies! Socialization! Also for those who visited Cali you can see the difference hormones make. Cali LOVES her mom, and her moms daughters, husband and each their babies and their babies can be with the puppies too. One of the daughters with the grand baby lives in Saskatchewan and although Im sure visits lots is still not around all the time. I had to run out to a vet appointment and Cali even came and said hello to me at the door when I came home like Im still part of the family. So grateful for the big family visit and puppy sitting from everyone !

Another awesome family visit !!!! Skylar from Oscar and Bella went to live with Roanna in Calgary and her sister and family is now adopting from this litter ! Skylar has spent a lot of time visiting his cousins and they LOVE him! It really warms my heart to know a puppy has made such a great impression that extended family then also wants a puppy of their own! So thank you ! **** masks and sanitizing of hard and soft surfaces as well as changing out the puppy rugs between families.

Yay another family visit ! Since these are out of order to accommodate back to school schedule and Covid, I cant quite say yet whos getting which puppy but soon! The puppies benefit greatly and Im grateful to meet forever families whenever possible. Masks and cleaning of soft and surfaces between families of course.

Thank you to Chrysta and the kiddos! All the puppies got some pawesome cuddles ! Very polite well behaved kiddos with great questions that are going to be awesome big dog brothers! Sometimes deciding between two great puppies can be good sibling negotiation /compromising lessons. Families teach me as much as I hope to be able to share and teach as well. The puppy they get which will be announced tomorrow also gets to join a cocker spaniel and a chihuahua! How fun!

Super nastalgic I dont know if its all the kids going back to school or what! Left to right Moon, Tahiti, Katie, Bella. For those of you who may not be getting to meet your puppy in person just know I only ever got to pick Shadow out of the litter in person. Chloe was the last puppy available, Bella was the last puppy, Moon was chosen for me and arrived by plane, Tessa I got to choose from photos and videos, Oscar photos and videos, Oakley photos and videos, Tahiti last pup...py available impulse buy while scrolling Facebook lol. Cali well I got to choose her from the litter and place her in the guardian home but she is there all of our guardian dogs truly belong to their families as long as they dont run away with them so I refer to them as OUR dogs. So there are no bad dogs its choosing a great breeder, and socializing and training your puppy. Its fun to meet them but not necessary. See more

With heavy hearts we announce our Miss Tessa has mild hip dysplasia at just 2 years and 3 months old. The grading score goes from Excellent-Good-Fair- Borderline- Mild HD- Moderate- Severe- Hip Dysplasia. 3 Orthopedic specialist review the x Ray without knowing the opinion of the others specialist and all three were in 100% agreement. It is also their opinion its hereditary. Last thing I expected from this grand champion show line of poodles. A Lesson is to learn what Pennh...ip scores mean not just from the breeder as they are more difficult to understand then OFA scores. I am 3 months outside the contract for compensation re a health guarantee. COVID x rays being behind etc so there is no financial compensation. This is big loss emotionally but also financially. I will chalk it up as a huge learning lesson to learn more and more about this condition and not rely on the information from others. It is important to ask breeders not only how long the health guarantee is but what the process is should you need to use it in writing. Can the dog stay with you the only family it knows or will you be forced to give it back ? For many years a lot of breeders relied on families not wanting to give their fur babies back to void guarantees. I dont want to do things that way. Who pays for it to go back ? How much will that cost for an adult dog vs the puppy. Will there be deductions for re training and or will a new puppy be provided ? Deductions for spay or neuter whos responsible ? With insurance its going to be a lot more fair to both parties but most importantly the dogs dont just get euthanized. Its not protecting you its not protecting the breeder its protecting the dog. So will absorb this loss and keep pushing forward this is breeding! And doing it ethically. Im not perfect and you do sometimes have to make tough best educated decisions theres a lot we cant test for or rule out, there is no crystal ball the same as having children but I not only want to be fair to my breeding practice. I want to produce sound puppies. I want to stand behind the puppies, while supporting my families, and doing the right thing, and the fair thing for all , to the best of my ability. Happily for Tessa she gets to live a long happy life with her family. She may not be breeding quality but shes a great pet !

Khaleesis glow up ! Oscar and Bellas Khaleesi lives with as many kids as I have poodles! She is so good with kids ! Loves to play and run at the dog park and swim at the lake and so sweet to them and even acts as a walker type device with the babies!

Startle and Recovery ! Introducing loud sounds to the puppies to startle and recover. Since they dont experience true fear at this age. Puppies will go through a fear period usually about a week sometime in between 8-11 weeks and then sometime between 6-14 months. If your puppy or young dog is suddenly reserved and shy seeming, especially around things they were once not afraid of, this is a sign they are experiencing a fear period. Where they can be traumatized with single ...event learning. So while its super important to socialize, its also important to recognize these stages, and be extra careful in un predictable environment. When your puppy does experience something traumatic to them its important not to coddle and baby talk them through it, therefore reinforcing the fear but encourage them with calm assertive energy and treats. Fears developed during fear periods often dont express themselves until months later. So when youll think they have recovered suddenly at 6 months they are afraid of things and you might even be able to make the connection between that thing that happened at 8-11 weeks old. That all being said a great foundation at the breeders home can help ensure breeding through some of these things. See more
