This client recently moved into their new home that already had the fireplace and surround installed. Feeling the space lacked the presence they were looking for, we added built-ins either side and floating shelves above. In addition to the cabinetry and floating shelves we built out above the fireplace to mount the tv and run conduit to the cabinets to hide the wires for the components and finished it off with a classic profile crown moulding. Floating shelves and cabinet... tops are 1-3/4 thick solid pine stained dark walnut. Swipe to the end to see the before pic.. A recent client didn’t like the old round columns in their family room so I made Some custom columns to match the fireplace in the background which I made and installed a while back, I also built and installed cabinetry that you see around it. @ Oshawa, Ontario

Workshop Wednesday!Made a new set of these to cut dados with my router. I’ve made many of these over the years and always find the bearings wear down the MDF and lose accuracy, so I decided to glue a strip of the hardest wood I had in the shop, Acacia. I find these to be the quickest way to cut accurate sized dado’s with minimal set up time. How do you guys like to cut dado’s?
