Open Door Sanctuary 26.01.2021

The earth awakens and from between the rock walls the life force of snowdrops spring forth. Sometimes there are moments in life that may feel like being between a rock and a hard place but there is always your beauty, holding your space. Trust it, feel it, see it for the Creator is forever with you.

The wild swans glide across the calm waters, nurturing their young through their first winter after flying a journey of a thousand miles. They are a wonder to see and in our eyes, we admire their beauty and grace. And yet why is this so hard to see in ourselves? Why do we deflect and deny any encouraging words of praise for what we do every day, saying no, not me, someone else is better or more graceful? I only stumble along my way And yet who are we but the ones who creat...e change? Build communities? Have the courage to stand before the mirror of inner reflection and truly see ourselves? To give the expression of love within our helping hands? To look for the best in people? For we too have the strength for our great journeys, from where we started, to where we are today and will be tomorrow. All met with our unique talents, in our beauty and grace, beyond what we can even imagine we are. It is in gratitude we move forward in step with the Divine Creator. Welcome 2021

The sun rises through the morning mist over the valley as the landscape changes in preparation for winter. The migratory birds fly in to use the land as a place of rest and to fuel up for their continuing journey. The summer vegetation starts to die back, returning to nourish the soil. Time and change we are forever bound to the divine cycles of Nature. While change and the unknown may be unsettling in our very human lives, just remember we too are part of this cycle. While we may shed some of our outer layers, the very heart of who we are is the constant that nurtures us as we unfold. We are always held within loving embrace of the Divine One.

The Heart Within - our talented Betty gifted the Sanctuary an extraordinary driftwood and rock sculpture for all to enjoy. The five of us were on an adventure last year to Bamfield, on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. Hiking on a beach, we came across a rock embedded in an old tree root. We discovered that much of the root system was buried but we dug like dogs in the sand the first day and came back the next day with a saw. Definitely a team effort getting this piece of raw wood out but we had a lot of fun. Then into Betty's loving and skillful hands to bring forth The Heart Within.
