Wow, time really flies! Reflecting on the past year on maternity leave and back to work for the past twelve weeks! I know I’ve found a good flow when life has a sense of ease and accomplishment. That’s not to say it’s all easy, but has all been worth it! To be honest, I feared coming back to work. This is my second baby so I knew I could handle the separation. This time around I was worried about work. We always joke that Digital Agency years are like dog years, fueled with ...a lot of caffeine A whole year away, what did I miss, how much has changed? Maybe I’d be too far behind the team to catch up, maybe I’d lose my touch. This all circled my head for weeks! Luckily for me, I work with the best group of people! Everyone was welcoming and so helpful! The year away also gave me a really unique perspective of our team from a leadership perspective. The experience reminded me of when someone would say my youngest son had changed so much since the last time they saw him. Curtis and I were with him every day and would always shrug thinking has he?. But the minor changes that happen daily make for major and noticeable growth over six months! Now imagine observing a year’s worth of growth! That’s what I saw coming back to our team, I saw major growth and I was so proud of everyone! We also welcomed two new members to the team and getting a chance to work with them has been awesome. Seeing our team through this lens will stick with me forever and remind me to always see how far someone has come from where they started. Every doorway was a different width and height, the floor was chipped up and uneven, and it still had the faint smell of eggs from its previous life as a packaging facility. ... With a little elbow grease, new hardware, and flooring, we turned it into our first office. For five years, we worked hard mastering our trade, learning the ins and outs of Facebook and Google, and earning our Google Partner badge and so many individual certifications. But weve grown up now. Celebrating our successes doesnt just feel good, but it allows our clients to succeed and grow too, and we get to grow with them!
