Ottawa Public Speakers Youth Gavel Club

Ottawa Public Speakers Youth Gavel Club is now rebranded to YouthsOnline.ca! Spring 2021 is now open for registration! Three clubs are available for this term!... Mondays, 6:00pm-7:30pm, Public Speaking Fun Club, for youths in grades 6-9. Wednesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm, French Public Speaking Fun Club, for youths in French Immersion or Full French schools to practice French public speaking. Fridays, 7:00pm-8:30pm, Youth-topia Leadership Club, for youths to practice leading sessions, discussion groups, understanding emotional intelligence, conflict management, etc. For youths in grades 8-10. New! You've heard of Toastmasters and how it has successfully helped millions of people with public speaking?! This is a French Toastmasters Club for youths! Practice speaking for French Immersion or full French students! Virtual program! Does not matter which city you are in! Youths will engage in a supportive francophone speaking environment where they will learn public speaking and leadership skills! A French speaking parent with intermediate level French or higher is... required so that both parent and youth will benefit from the program. Parent and Youth will be in separate virtual sessions with their own peers! Dates: Oct 6 to Dec 15, 2020 Tuesdays 6:30pm to 8:00pm, online! Ottawa Public Speakers Youth Gavel Club

A fabulous FIRST meeting with a group of fantastic kids, tweens, and teens! I am pretty sure everyone had a blast! :) Lots of great smiles and positive energy. We learned how to give firm handshakes, and how to speak confidently when networking. We learned about the Competent Communicator and Competent Leader manuals, the meeting roles and speeches. Youths have even volunteered for the role of their choice for our next meeting, where the theme is going to be FOOD!!! Looking forward to it! :)
